All that glistens is not gold

Reviewed 1 october, 2022

The location is stunning and easy to locate from the coast road, we stayed one night and 72 hours later just about recovering from the worst food poisoning we suffered in years, I understand it happens in places at some time, but what I really don't expect is the owner to then say "to much wine" shrug it off and charge you for the damn meal, the food issue I can live with the attitude is one to avoid.

Don’t go for a classic room

Reviewed 2 june, 2022

We checked into Giallonardo on our Sicily Road trip in June 2022. The staff was friendly, but there was an odd sense dissatisfaction in the air, allready upon arrival. We were shown our ‘Classic Room’, which resembled more of a cabin than a room. ‘Well it’s just for sleeping’, we were told. Not very helpful, but since all other rooms were taken, we settled in. Unfortunately the room is right next to the kitchen and the clattering of dishes, the humming of machines will prevent you from rest or sleep until kitchen is done. Yes, they have other rooms, but all in all.. it was just not an inviting experience. Our agent reacted quickly and booked us into another guest house (see later review). If you are looking for a GREAT place to stay, choose NOT the classic room at Giallonardo. Having said this.. the staff was understanding and reacted well when we left. Breakfast was good and the location is nice, too. The place just did not feel right for us

There was nothing wrong at all, but nothing was exceptional either. Room was OK, bathroom was small View from out terrace on the backside of the hotel was not very nice. The pool is large with an ok view Dinner was basic, no a la carte choice, only 1 menu at 28euro Basic breakfast buffet

Heart-warming welcome and service

Reviewed 27 september, 2019

On our way to Agrigento, we stopped for one night at this very nice Borgo. The welcome and the service of the hosts was impeccable. The surrounding is beautiful - especially the sunset in the evening and the view of the sea from the Terrasse. We have not tried the food so we cannot comment, but if you like a modern twist (The Borgo is set in a modern ambiance) set in Sicily’s surroundings, then this is a place to stay for you.

Magical & Lovely

Reviewed 9 august, 2019

From the moment Carmelo greeted us at our car until we departed with Elda’s friendly smile, this place was like a dream. The room was perfectly made for our family of 4. We ate dinner at the hotel the first night having from from the USA and rather jet lagged. One by one our kids fell asleep at dinner and the cook and receptionist were so kind to wrap their meals and help us get the kids to bed. Our boys loved running around the property and the pool, which is total perfection. Finally, the recommendations from whomever was at the front desk was spot-on. We went to Lustru di Luna for dinner one night and I only wish I had taken more of the opportunity over email to have them plan our few days in this beautiful part of the world.
