A long way to go!

The executive room was spacious but was 300steps from reception so not at all good for anyone with mobility issues. Was very dog friendly but not good when you have to walk so far to your room. The afternoon tea and breakfast were very good but the dinner service in the restaurant was appalling. The food was bland and the waitresses were not fully trained. One had a dirty shirt and was very offhand. They did not advise of the food and wine not on the list before we ordered and tried to put red wine in an ice bucket! Staff did not know how to put our drinks on our room tab and when we drank outside we noticed glasses and plates left outside for 24 hours.
Overpriced, Poor cleanliness, outdated.

We paid £135 for a suite which is what we got, however the room smelt both damp and of stale smoke. Furniture was stained as was the velour on headboard that actually looked like blood (cant be certain). Cigarette burns in furniture. The cleanliness was poor with dust build ups everywhere, shower was speradic in temperature and as for the use of shower curtains (unhygienic).
The outside of the building needs a 3 month maintenance team on it and a good tidy up. Radiators leaking in communal areas that they have resolved by putting buckets in place. Bar poorly stocked and dirty glasses all over the bar. We left the at approx 6pm and our glasses were still on the table when we returned at 9-45pm. This bar is a joke, limited drinks limited glasses, no straws, stirrers or napkins, no ambience, just soleless.
YOUR MONEY IS BETTER SPENT ELSEWHERE.
Very poor for money I have stayed in a budget Ibis for £45 and had a better experience.

had a couple of nights here last week, no problems with our room at all, breakfast was self service and very tasty, the staff all seemed friendly especially the elderly gentleman who showed us to our table at breakfast, yes maybe a little tlc is needed here and there but hoteliers have had a miserable time recently, so come on guys stop giving awful reviews if you want 5 star then go 5 star, some of the previous reviews are unreasonable
Really tired & run down, not me, the hotel....

Had travelled 13hrs to get here from NI, for a wedding locally the next day. Receptionist wasn’t the best start (end of shift apparently) & our room (290) was at the furthest point from the front of the hotel....opens door, yuk...terrible damp smell from bathroom as you go in, bed sheets were damp too, . The room resembled a zoo as well, crane fly in the bathroom (looked quite happy) moth on the curtains wasp zinging around & a spider ON THE BED....the mattress was appalling, no support at all, but we were so tired after the journey it was bear it....after dispatching the critters....didn’t do breakfast as we were told to book a slot & didn’t want to be fixed to a time so went elsewhere...had a fab wedding...slept a bit & went home, handed keys in & no ‘was everything ok for your stay’ , good job pro as I’d still be there.....AVOID...

Bar: poorly stocked, bar tables filthy, carpet must be washed thoroughly. Bartenders deserve a good training, maybe a decent hours of work. Back bar and shelves you could grow veg in the dust. Literally. No bar napkins or even straws. Fridges - filth and empty. Absolute lack of even effort. The tables outside were covered with dirt, bird poo. Staff outside shouting at each other what needs doing, no discretion. When my friend asked for stirer in her drink, she was offered not just two wooden coffee sticks, but also the sarcasm of "Would you like me to drink it for you as well?" Are you guys serious?
The event: Hardly any staff at all at the buffet. Even in case of emergency there would been non available to report it.
After the event: We were politely asked to vacate and retire to the main bar. 30 min waiting at unattended bar. I personally went back to the event bar and the bartender said I was rude to ask him , and he wont do it, because he has to come back to work at five am in the morning??? How is this our problem, and why is this gentleman talking back to a customer in such a vile manner?
Receptionist last night? What an excuse of a dedicated face of the company. Rude and unhelpful, lack of care. No one seemed to be interested at their jobs.
Beds were hard as if I slept on the floor. I couldn't wait to leave this morning. There was hot water only in the bathroom. Scorching hot water.
Breakfast: cold plates, cold sausages, cold scrambled eggs tasting like sand. Hash browns were halfway cooked, and pretty gammy. Warm orange juice. Didn't have a coffee. The cup was sorta polished, brown from previous user.
Alexander was he? He needs a good holiday and a better job. Or jackpot. I can't teach him how to be happy. But he seem nervous, unhappy and I'm sure he needs better caring managers, who care about this God forsaken place.
Oh, how do we ask for a refund?
