Good stay, good location, just a tiny bit of after taste!

The room was clean and tidy. And check in was smooth. All info was provided and help was given promptly when asked. We stayed for 3 nights and had a good stay. The only thing which left a bitter taste in this whole experience was a staff at breakfast on our last day( Friday) . I am unable to have any solid food first thing in the morning, and asked at reception on our first day whether a grab and go back can be arranged and I can have my hot drink at table with my family. The staff were really nice and provided me with grab and go bag for me for 2 mornings. The final morning when I asked for a grab and go, a rude staff (gentleman )plainly refused. He was unpleasant and abrupt. Finally the lady at the reception and another lady staff at the breakfast area sorted the problem swiftly by getting me a bag. However this male staff never apologised after the incident. Well, I guess there is always one in a competent staff group who tends to be awkward and biased. Kudos to other staff who work hard and are competent. Generally a good stay, equipped with good travel options. We took the tube easily into central London from Newbury park.

Bad hotel, do not stay here. This hotel loos good but on closer inspection it's worn, damaged and has poor service. They offer a free breakfast which to a vegan us useless. They dont have vegan anything and the woman who dishes out the breakfast said they have vegetarian sausages which contain eggs. She didn't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. I asked for cornfakes with soya milk. They didn't have soya milk. I ended up with a black coffee and toast with vegetable spread. I have stayed at this hotel many times and they never fail to disappoint me. My office books my rooms and when I see the email with this hotel my heart sinks. Duvet paper thin. Toilets don't flush properly. Staff not trained properly and keep you at reception for a long time.

Nowhere near a 4-star experience

Where to start...first impressions were not good at all. We stayed on Wednesday 11th November. We were locked out, despite staff knowing we would be arriving late (we arrived at 23:15). We tried for 15 minutes, in the pouring rain to get in, we called and called and called..no answer and then the door miraculously opened as if by magic. We got to reception to be greeted by the most miserable person we have ever met. No apology, no hello, no nothing just "gotta reservation?"..as someone who runs a 4 star hotel this guy wouldn't have a job, how he (Asian, 5ft 10ish, black jumper) actually HAS a job I'll never know all I can think is nepotism. I realise we are in London, the land of no manners but we expected more from a 4 star hotel. Anyway, our room was ok, no toiletries, only 1 set of towels (Covid? Who knows), poor tv channels and a non working remote due to our 'Mr. Miserable' host we didn't want to complain incase we made him cry. Nice pillows in the room, I like firm pillows. Breakfast was nice considering and the server Faruk/Faruq was lovely. An asset and a saving grace to our trip, helpful, friendly, welcoming, couldn't do enough for us maybe he could train Mr. Miserable in how to be nice. Our check out was smooth our receptionist asked how our stay was honestly we couldn't be bothered to tell her about our check in and bet she wouldn't have done anything anyway. All in all we wouldn't stay in a holiday Inn again, we have had better service in an Ibis.
Excellent Modern Hotel

Stayed here recently, a lovely smart HIE, managed by a friendly team. My room was nice, with great views over night time London, good internet, and a no outside noise.
A nice breakfast in the morning, good value as they often are round the north circular.
Some nice restaurants nearby and a handy M&S FOOD virtually in the car park.
Will certainly use again.
