Great stay - wonderful location

Reviewed 27 october, 2022

I was a bit nervous after reading some reviews of this hotel but we ended up having a wonderful stay! The rooms are small but the size was on par with other city hotel rooms. We did hear late night music but again this is a city, I used a white noise machine and slept well. Staff was friendly and helpful. FREE convenient parking. Great location. Hot tub and steam rooms were a fun plus.

Great location, friendly staff, comfy rooms

Reviewed 13 september, 2022

Overall I really liked this hotel - the rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable although a little more closet space would be nice. We received upgraded rooms, which was a nice touch as there was an email glitch that did not forward my confirmation, so I wasn't 100% sure we had a room when we arrived late at night (but we did!) We stayed twice during our trip, and I would definitely stay here again. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the location to the sights, shops, and restaurants of Reykjavik are all easy walking distance. There are parking garages nearby too if you cannot get (or fit into) the 6 spots the hotel has reserved. We had nice views from both our rooms. Be aware that there are bars nearby that are very popular on weekends so you may hear some street noise during your stay (obviously not the hotel's fault.) But this is the same anywhere you stay downtown in Reykjavik. Earplugs are available, and I use a white noise app on my phone, which helps.

Very nice but too expensive

Reviewed 12 september, 2022

The location, room, bed, shower, and staff were all great. Just expensive for what we are used to. Over a $1000 (US) per night for a studio suite is a lot. I enjoyed the art throughout the hotel but the dark corridors were a problem if you dropped something. WHen I used my phone's flashlight to look for my dropped item, I was surprised to find the dark purple painted walls. I thought they were black.

Very Well Located Hotel

The good: friendly staff, location very convenient, decent bedding the bad: very expensive, strange glass water closet (no one wants to see or hear others using the toilet) the ugly: very very expensive

Very Nice Hotel - BUT outrageously expensive!

Reviewed 19 july, 2022

Fortunately I was able to use Marriott points to stay here, otherwise I never could have afforded it. It's right across the street from the Culture House stop on the Flybus route, which is convenient. My rooms (I was there twice) were both very comfortable) but the cost for a room and for a cold breakfast buffet are both outrageous. I did not encounter any of the noise problems others have reported, and the staff was very helpful with my bags (I arrived quite early and had to rush off for a tour; and I needed help to get a couple of very heavy bags across to the bus stop very early the next morning). They also had good restaurant recommendations!
