Spacious hotel suite just one block from the beach
Reviewed 17 September, 2016
I stayed at Ipanema Towers with a friend for four nights, and it was basically like staying at a nice Airbnb with the added services of a hotel. Since the exchange rate was so favorable we "splurged" and booked a two bed/two bath suite, which wound up being on the 11th floor. The suite also included a living room with a small sofa, 2 armchairs, and a TV; a kitchen table with four chairs; and a galley kitchen that came stocked with some cooking utensils and dish-ware. The flat also included a long balcony with a table and chairs, which had great views of some mountains and an obscured view of the beach/ocean.
The flat wasn't super modern, but it was clean and bright. The kitchen included a small minibar with snacks and the fridge was stocked full of bottled water, beer, and even a mini bottle of champagne (of course, you paid for what you used at the end of your stay). There was air-conditioning units in every room that could each be set to different temperatures.
You can't beat the location -- Ipanema is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Rio, and we (two women) never felt unsafe. (We did see an attempted robbery at the end of our trip, though, so do be cautious with cell phones, jewelry, etc.) It was just one block to the beach, where vendors rent your chairs and umbrellas for a low price (and no hassle).
The hotel also had a great breakfast spread each morning, served in a cute little cafe on one of the lower floors.
The only negatives are that it seemed most of the front desk staff didn't speak English, so arrive with your booking printed out or screenshotted on your phone; and we did see a few mosquitos and ants in the room over the course of our stay, but it wasn't anything unexpected for a tropical climate.
Beautiful Olympic City

There's a lot to see besides the Olympics! The venues are easy to spot on Nomadi app, and it's SO easy to locate oneself on a map. But I liked the Ipanema and Copacabana beach best. Sun and beach together with breeze!
Nice apartment with a great view

We had a nice apartment with 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. The bathroom could use an upgrade. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The staff was helpful though not everyone spoke English so at times it could be a little difficult. The breakfast was nice, lots of selection. It is one block from the beach and a few blocks from nice cafes and shops. The subway is about 6 blocks away. A very nice stay.
Big apartments - good location

Stayed here for four nights. in early January. This is a great alternative for families or two couples travel together. We were only two people, and consequently had a lot of space. The apartment (we stayed in 301) had two bedrooms, both with direct access to the balcony, two bathrooms, kitchenette and a big living room. A/C in both bedrooms and living room. TV in living room and one bedroom. If you are looking for state-of-the art equipment, you will be disappointed. But everything worked. The balcony was nice (not easy to find hotels with balconies in Rio). The higher your floor, the less likely is it that you will be bothered by the noise from the street.
The hotel has a very convenient location. Just one block from Ipanema beach (close to posto 9), and about 15 mins walk to Leblon Shopping. If you feel like self-catering, there is a decent supermarket 5 mins walk away. Bus stop right in front of the hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
The breakfast was good with the usual spread that you expect in these parts of the world. Food through room service was ok and decent value, but don’t expect a gourmet meal. Small pool with a few sun chairs. Wi-fi worked fine most of the time.
Very helpful staff at the front desk. Most of them speak good English.
Visiting Brazil for the first time.

We arrived at this hotel on June 5th 2015. We stayed for for 5 days. When we checked in, there was no one at the front desk who spoke English. We worked it out with our paper work we had. The apartment was large. There was 5 of us. We had two bath rooms and two bedrooms. One room had double rooms and the other had one full size bed, and a large balcony. The gym was out of order, the breakfast was ok. They had a variety of food to choose from. We were located a block away from the beach and two blocks away from down town Inpanema. The whole time we were there no one spoke English at the fromt Desk. We used our phone for translation.
If I return to Brazil, I will stay here again.
