Covid Hazard Hotel

I live in the Chicago city but stay in this hotel for a week due to my house renovating. I am pregnant and selected this hotel because they claimed they have covid special procedure. However, it is not the case.
First, the 6 total elevators 4 of them constantly not working and only the staff elevator is working. It took you all down to house cleaning area and then load it with trash and laundry in elevator with you. The elevator has no minimum people limit - nor that people have to wear masks per IL mandates. I have to squeeze myself in the corner with trash can, un mask people, and sometimes 6- 7 of them all together - how that is covid special policy?
Second, they have a post there for people to wear masks but leave them be when people not wear mask. It is IL mandate and most of the office building or hotel staff demand people wearing masks otherwise not allowed. I don't feel safe for this hotel claim Covid special policy
Third, They load all the clean towel in an elevator full of other travelers just checkin, people un mask and sneeze in elevator - then you can imagine they will distribute these " clean towels" to the room - is that covid special policy?
Fourth, I am pregnant, and understand the risk of staying in hotel. However, I choose it because it said it has covid policy - the front desk is so rude, told me that you should not travel to big city if you are pregnant. Well, I understand the risk, but your webiste saying all those words about how you implement covid policy, did you do it?
I feel this hotel might become a covid spread hub if they don't start implement the polidy they claim. It is a lie in their website for the special covid policy. Also if you ask them to improve, they will humiliate you. I will also report to CDC or other authority if you capture covid during the stay over there. They should take full responsibility to provide unsafe environment and not true to the clean procedure they claimed.

The property is fine, however the elevators really detracted from our experience. In my opinion, the number of elevators is insufficient to handle demand. Even worse, two were out of service during our stay, and that really exacerbated the bad experience. Several times, we waited 10-15 minutes for an elevator, often to find one already crammed full of people. When we finally got on one, we would stop at each floor on the way down and see another frustrated group waiting each time the door opened. Inexplicably, one of the three elevators on each floor has a hidden call button which is not activated by the primary button, and is out of view on the side of the entryway. How hard would it be to at least put a sign up to point this out?

This is at the bottom of the list for Residence Inn’s I have stayed at. The lobby is a zoo most of the time. The elevators up to the rooms take forever. That was made worse by the fact that one of them was out of service for our whole stay. We didn’t eat the breakfast because the place was crazy packed every morning. Not the fault of the hotel, but still something that was a negative. The coffee was absolutely undrinkable. The room was ok at best. The rooms are in and need of an update. We stayed in a King Suite and there wasn’t much sweet about it. I am not sure what room they took a picture of for their website, but it is not accurate for what they are. That brings me to the good stuff. The location is perfect. So much to do in every direction. We will not stay again. Too many nicer choices for comparable prices in the area.

This hotel is a great location and very walkable. Check in was easy, personable people. Even though Lolla was this weekend (we were visiting family), the security measures were great. This hotel is in desperate need of some upgrading. The hotel bar was good; breakfast was ok but we only ate it a couple of times. We would definitely stay here again. We were there for 6 nights.

We were surprised to discover that this hotel is actually two sharing one building - a Residence Inn and Springhill Suites, which use the same lobby, public areas and breakfast room. It was a zoo when we checked in. It is also in an area very popular with the bar crowd in the evening. The room was comfortable although it you don't need a full kitchen, you could possibly save money by booking elsewhere. The bed was comfy but the bathroom sink area faced the bed so the lights will wake up anyone sleeping. No restaurant although the bar (open limited days) has a small bites menu. Parking garage attached - $45/day extra. Limited room service. Room cleaning must be booked 24 hours in advance currently. Rooms on lowest floors facing the garage are subject to noise from huge HVAC fans and curtains must be drawn for privacy since cars pass right by the windows. Guest laundry is on 27th floor but change is only available at the check-in desk on the 2nd floor.
