Apartment in practical location (Monti district)

Reviewed 14 october, 2021

Positive first: the apartment (not a hotel) is located in the authentic Monti district. Walking distance to the Termini train station, the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums. The Metro Station "Cavour" is only a couple of minutes by foot. The apartment has two bedrooms and actually plenty of space. It is however a pretty dark and plain affaire. Beds are not very comfortable. Especially the double bed. So, if you are a little older, or have back problems, than sleeping might be challenging. It is located in an old building, so you can hear your neighbors from all sides. And you "feel" the metro passing by below in the underground. Nice vibrations...

Wonderful place with a charming hostess

Reviewed 9 october, 2019

A friend had recommended this hotel to us and we were still pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a lively part of town with great restaurants and shops. We were able to walk to all of the major sites except the Vatican, but the metro stop is only a block away. The manager/hostess of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, and we were greeted warmly by her and her little dog Julius, who greeted us as though we were there to see him. We stayed for 4 nights and had an absolutely wonderful time in Rome and at this hotel. There are locals who live in the building as well, so there was a feeling of the "real" Rome while having all of the amenities one expects in a hotel. We would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we ever return to Rome.

charming place

This is really a charming place combining a historic setting with all modern amenities right in the heart of Rome. Ideal to explore the city centre, set in a lively neighbourhood with attractive shopping and bars. Super-friendly staff, clean, welcoming and very decent breakfast. Would come back any time.

A lovely place to stay in the heart of Rome's lively Monti district with lots of small shops, bars, and restaurants. The Dimora has lots of atmosphere, very clean rooms and a super-friendly reception.

Gratefully moved here from another hotel

Reviewed 23 september, 2018

My husband and I had booked to stay at the Hotel Foro Romano. On arrival we were told our bathroom wasn't working so they would move us to their sister hotel just up the road for 1 of our 3 nights stay. I felt a little displaced by the move, quickly typed in Dimora Storica Urbana into TripAdvisor, and was satisfied with the reviews. We asked to stay for the full 3 nights, rather than swap hotels midway through our trip in Rome and were pleased this was accepted. The hotel is interesting. It's a few rooms in the middle of an old Roman apartment block - the building is amazing! - so you're living amongst the locals. We decided we liked that. Eating breakfast down in the spa building was interesting - eating pastries and toast with the smell of incense burning was a new experience. The room was clean and tidy, with Wi-Fi, bathroom essentials, a fridge - everything you might need for a stay in a city. Really close to Cavour metro station, which we used every day. It's opposite a little take away which does individual tiny round pizzas for just a few Euro. This was like heaven to us when we finally finished the hotel move and check in process over lunchtime. We didn't use the spa facilities at the hotel. The staff were friendly. All in all, a surprising but pleasant stay at this hotel.
