Not a working farm

Reviewed 1 january, 2017

I was expecting good food from previous reviews, but expected a lot more from the title of Agritourismo - there are a few olive trees, but nothing else. It is a "country home" but is not lived in by the hosts, so it has a very un-home like feel. The views are beautiful, Giovanni is an excellent cook and he was very responsive for our December booking. We liked getting off the beaten path into the park, but can see that it would be attractive in the summer. We were expecting to be able to go on a walk from the house, but there are no trails at all. The rooms were clean, but not cozy at all.

A jewel in S. Italy

Reviewed 13 september, 2014

In the middle of the national park pollino lies this hidden farm, redone as a guest house by its owner Giovanni (Zarafa). It is a bit a dream, esp. as we had no expectations, were the only guests (qwhere were you all, those that seek hidden jewels?) and were misled by booking come that there was no food to be had. Well, Giovanni cooked us a great dinner and we were so charmed by the plae that we promised ourselves that we will return with more time on our hands. I have no idea what activities there are around there, but just sitting on the balcony, walking around in the park and being there in that amazing place will do for us. Giovanni, on the one hand I wish you all the success, on the other hand I hope that you c an stay the hidden jewel.

Posto Incantevole Nel Parco Pollino

Reviewed 1 july, 2014

This place has it all, offering everything one could ever want in an agriturismo experience. It's surrounded by woods and olive trees, has spectacular views over the parco and has large well appointed rooms with patios. Best of all is the hospitality provided by Giovanni who seemingly does it all, especially when it comes to preparing a 4 course meal in his beautiful dining room...wow! Having grown up in this very special area, he can also advise you about travel and destinations. The national park is gem not to be missed by nature lovers with some of the best hiking we've ever had in Italy and the local villages are charming. By the way, this place is a tremendous value for the money. Information and booking can be found on the very useful website agriturismo.it. Highly recommended.
