Summer trip to Killington
Opinión escrita el 12 de Julio de 2021
The resort was very centrally located to the attractions we wanted to visit. Killington base lodge was only 2 miles away with all its attractions. Multiple (free) opportunities to go mountain biking within 2 - 10 miles away. Hikes, waterfalls, nature preserve, Quechee Gorge, etc. The resort was somewhat dated inside and could use an update to some furniture and carpets.

Pros: Hotel is in a lovely area--lots of beautiful trees everywhere. Upon check-in, we were given the most comprehensive welcome packet I've ever seen: a very large envelope with several maps, lists of restaurants, churches, services of all kinds, hikes and walks in the area, all the information a visitor could want for any needs. We were here as timeshare owners, so we were given a one-bedroom suite with a living area and fully-equipped kitchen. Also had the nicest jacuzzi tub we've ever encountered in addition to the shower. The bed was great. Everything was very clean. The pool looked inviting, although we didn't use it. The fitness center, though in a small room, contained quite a number of different kinds of exercise machines.
Cons: Unfortunately, in off-season, there is very little to do in Killington. Many of the businesses and restaurants were closed during our stay. Fortunately, we were here to rest, so we didn't mind. But bear in mind that this "resort" is not here to entertain you or take care of you. As far as we could see, there isn't even a restaurant onsite. Re the room--it had everything we needed, but probably will need a new coat of paint one of these days. It's a little tired-looking. Air conditioning in the bedroom worked too well; A/C in the living worked not at all. We had to keep the bedroom very, very cold in order to keep the living room down below 80 degrees. Again, we managed, but this isn't the mark of a first-class property.
GO Elsewhere! This place is NOT a resort.

Our first room was SO hot. We were in it for about an hour giving the a/c a chance to cool it down. Our 2nd room was a downgrade next to the first room. This a/c worked, but it was SO loud we had difficulty sleeping.
The beds were SO low! Felt like you were sleeping on the floor. We ended up also downgraded from a King to 2 queen's because the front desk did not take our floor request into account. When I walked in and said something about the stairs, there were 'no King rooms available'. Our rate was not adjusted on the switch.
Electronic charging? Non-existent! There aren't any charging ports! There aren't even enough outlets to do any charging of our electronics!
This place should NOT have the name "resort". At best, it's a motel.
There aren't any gas stations that close, or decent restaurants! A RESORT has restaurant capabilities on site. Such a remote place needs these amenities.
I considered sleeping on our vehicle the bed was so bad.

We visit Killington annually. Sometimes passing through, sometimes overnight. This was our first time here and it hit the mark in all categories- location, cleanliness room space, amenities, and staff. The front desk was manned when we arrived and at check out- no small thing these days. We are early risers and appreciated the GOOD coffee in the very nice breakfast room. My wife told me that I did a good job choosing this hotel. We will definitely return on our next trip north.
Beautiful Location and Area

Nice area and easy access to various scenic locations. Nice clean resort and friendly staff. Accommodations were great and we enjoyed our stay. Not a criticism just a note, our room was listed as having a full kitchen, but it only had an electric stove top and no built in oven. The oven itself was built into the counter top microwave unit. When saying you might want to bring a potato peeler, sponge for washing dishes and a wooden or soft spatula for stirring foods as these basic items are not included. Our unit did have a built in dishwasher that worked well. I recommend it it!
