Dont try to check in early even if they say its available
Check in is awful they said they had early check in available which was the whole reason we got that hotel. Apon arrival that was not the case and it took 45minutes when I went to check in at regular time they had everyone's rooms messed up..
All Rooms are pet friendly?
I am a CIO for the state and was attending a conference in downtown Sacramento, roughly 1.2 miles away from this hotel, which equates to about a 5 minute drive. I arrived a little past 11 PM and the only room available was a "Pet Friendly" room. I reluctantly accepted as no other hotel rooms had vacancy nearby. I was assured the room was cleaned, shampooed, etc. Needless to say the room smelled like dogs/cats or other animals which may have been in there at one point or another. I woke up with what I can only think or at least hope were dog hairs on my clothes, so the room was smelly, and the bed was not clean either. I spoke with the shuttle staff to get me to my conference and was told that even though the location was nearby, they would not, or are not authorized to drive into downtown Sacramento, only to the airport. Mind you, this is only 1.2 miles away, and about 5 minutes driving. I called to get my reservation changed to a non pet friendly room and was told that I would have to drive myself back to the hotel to move my items from the room as again, they would not drive to get me from downtown to their premises. Not only that, they did not guarantee that any room in their premises was non pet friendly as all of their rooms are pet friendly. The manager essentially mentioned that if I did not want a pet friendly room, I should have looked at their site and not booked with them in the first place. Absolutely unacceptable.
Do not stay here!
I felt very unsafe here. Hptel is not in a good area. There was urine outside me room, my room smelled like poop and the front door didnt latch well making me feel very unsafe. The room faced the pool and it was very noisy. I didnt end up staying the night. The staff were nice and welcoming, but I do not recommend staying here.
Pleasant staff. The property is getting on in years. The bed was comfortable enough. Though the bathroom was clean, it needed updating. Unsure how clean the room was as the carpet was pretty old and stained.
Poor Staff and Dirty Grounds
I had a very bad experience with staff. I was provided incomplete information about the airport shuttle when I called the hotel a week or two before arrival, and I ended up having to pay for a taxi. I was hung up on. Upon arrival, staff were sitting around the lobby and I felt like I was interrupting their social time. It was hard to tell who was working and who was "off". In addition, there was trash and cigarette butts on the grounds that looked like it hadn't been picked up in weeks and the lobby was in a bit of a state of disarray. I was very disappointed in the stay. Staff just seemed extremely lazy and poorly suited for their job. The hotel shows it's age, but the rooms have been updated. The main issue in the room itself was hot water and water pressure. It's sort of a typical off highway motel, so expectations were low to start with. The biggest problem was that the staff were completely unacceptable, and I felt unwelcome and even uneasy. I would advice others to avoid this hotel.
