A wonderful experience for the right price
When our timeshare folded in Sosua, we looked for another place to stay. We stayed for one week Friday February 15 through Friday February 22, 2019. It was just my best friend and I. We chose a room that was much like a traditional American hotel room (ie: 2 queens with a small kitchenette and a bathroom). The pricing was reasonable and the room satisfied our needs. The pool area was pristine and the staff was helpful when we needed them. Previous Trip Advisor reviews focus on multiple dogs on the property, but we had no problems with them at all. The owner of the hotel does assist in animal rescue so there are several dogs on site, but we enjoyed their presence. We did not find them loud or distracting and instead they only added to the joy of our experience. I commend the owner for the steps he takes to assist the downtrodden beach animals of Cabarete. We were able to walk from the hotel to almost every place we wanted to go, and taxis were readily available for longer day trips. We would stay here again for sure!!!
Low-season bargain with a couple niggling issues...
I paid $31/night. Credit cards accepted. Room was a spacious villa with A/C and minifridge. Very spotty WiFi. Villa clean and comfortable. Great staff. Good bathroom, but it takes literally minutes for warm water to arrive in the shower--pressure is also subpar. Huge and very nice pool. Laundry service available. Onsite restaurant open only for breakfast. Close to restaurants, banks, tourist info office. Cabarete is not a good place--albeit not as horrendous as Sosua--but this is a good hotel that would be great if the showers and WiFi were better...
This hotel is perfect for people who love animals. ( It's a dog friendly hotel with dogs rescued from street and handicapped dogs. All of them are wonderful, shy and appreciate any attention. ) Beautiful, clean, big pool. Friendly stuff. Good location - restaurants, shops all around. Beach very close by.
Not a good experience
Upon arrival, much confusion about rates that were booked 2 months prior for a group of 30 people. Took a long time to sort it all through. No hot water for 1 of the 2 nights booked. Room door keys quit working after the first night. However, the pool was nice, landscaping was very well done. In the future, we would probably opt for another place to stay.
wonderful centric and cozy hotel with pool and the beach across the street
My family and I went to this wonderful hotel in Cabarete for the weekend and we had an awesome time. The cozy bungalows where we stayed are in the middle of a very private and quiet tropical garden with fruit trees and around a beautiful pool. You can eat at the hotel restaurant in any of the two areas inside or outside on a beautiful terrace with a view of the pool. And it is very economic. One of the best values you will find in Cabarete to have breakfast lunch or dinner. And the bungalows are super economic, great value, very spacious, and beautiful, very private. You can also bring your pet along. The owner is an excellent human being who has a few rescues who come to welcome you when you arrive. They are very happy and sociable 4 legged residents which are an extra to this wonderful hotel including the sympathetic Rusty, the little dog on wheels. We will definately be back and truly recommend!
