Five Star Deluxe Hotel, but due to location it felt like a tourist class/ convention hotel
We spent 3 nights at the St Regis in San Francisco , but would not return. The hotel is 1 block away from the massive SF Convention center and was packed when we arrived with conventioneers...loud and intoxicated 2 of the 3 nights we were there. The lunch and breakfast was decent if a bit limited. The service at the restaurant was very good, but on the street level and the 3 breakfast and lunch we had there was uncomfortable with the homeless watching as you eat every bite. We had a butler that came with the room and he was very attentive. The Four Seasons is 1 1/2 block away and much better location, rooms, and food quality without the terribly noisy small lobby. The hotel had a small gym, but again the 4 Seasons Hotel close bye had a great gym. We will stay at the Four Seasons next time in SF.
We were very impressed by our stay at the St. Regis a few years back. Our room was fantastic. The hotel is perfectly situated, breakfast was excellent. Very friendly and helpful front desk guest. St. Regis never disappoints me . I've also stayed at some other St. Regis properties before. St. Regis Toronto is my top favourite, ST. Regis New York comes second, this is the third. Hope to return one day, maybe you wil be my top favourite by then
Best hotel in SF
Awesome stay at a great hotel with very attentive and kind staff people. Sundar especially made a great impression and was a delight to speak with. Food and decor were all great as well. I would return on any stay in SF
I was there one night. They upgraded me to a higher view. Very kind and courteous staff. The room and Views are gorgeous. The pool has great views. They have a jacuzzi, sauna and steam. The only thing is the jacuzzi is in a small Room with little natural light. But it is Stillo great to have!
Great family vacation hotel in SFO (pricey)!
Booking: I booked used Marriott Bonvoy points online. When I booked online, I had requested adjoining rooms. I called to confirm a few days before and I was told that they had already assigned all of the connecting rooms to others. A manager got involved and was able to take care of it so I am grateful for the manager's assistance. Check-in: We flew in relatively late with our family and the check-in process was very smooth and quick. Room: We had occupied two rooms (Executive Premier and a Deluxe room) which connected to each other. Room 1: The Executive Premier room had 1 king bed and we had requested a rollaway bed. The room is not super spacious but sufficient. The furnishings and bed were typical St. Regis style fantastic. The bathroom, while a bit tight, was equally nice with a tub and a walk in shower. We re-arranged the desk in the room to give ourselves more room to store our luggage. Room 2: The Deluxe room had 2 double beds and it was not super spacious but sufficient. The bathroom (at least appeared to be) was a bit bigger and also was equally nice with a tub and a walk in shower. Dining: We only had breakfast at the hotel which was wonderful. The Grill's wait staff and hostess were incredibly pleasant. Since we were there for multiple days, the staff remembered us and took great care of us. Highly recommend the restaurant for its service and food quality. FYI, we received breakfast for 2 adults free with each room as part of Platinum Elite benefits. Lobby: Very little public seating is available in the lobby. We had 1 drink at the Lobby Lounge which was great but very expensive (but on par with SFO prices). Other notes: The hotel did have apple cider and hot chocolate available in the lobby each evening. The kids loved it. We also happened to have stayed over during Christmas. The hotel was gracious enough to have surprise stockings for our kids with little trinkets and candy in there which was also appreciated by the kids. The hotel welcomed us with nice candles which we took home as a reminder of our visit. There were 2 NBA teams staying at the hotel during our visit. This caused quite a crowd to form each day outside the hotel which was handled well by the hotel.
