Amazing! Couldn’t ask for more!

We came from a different hotel and when we saw our room were appalled! We truly thought that our holiday was ruined. Then, we quickly found The Wight and we could not have received better service! A room was cleaned and made up for us, they let us come straight away!
The bedroom was stunning! Nice amount of space, and lovely double bed! The bathroom was lovely, really nice bath and good working shower. The whole room was spotless top to bottom! Considering that they only had about 30 minutes to clean the room we weren’t expecting that but when we came we were very pleasantly surprised!
The breakfast was brilliant, filled us up! We didn’t need lunch! The sausages and bacon were cooked beautifully and even with fried bread not a single bit of it was greasy! The table service was a delightful surprise and staff did everything you could possibly want them to!
The facilities available were just amazing. The pool is brilliant! We forgot about the beach and spent the day in there! The jacuzzi was fab and the steam room was something I have never experienced before but I have to say I will be going back in!
The cleaning staff and all the staff in fact are so lovely and so easy to talk to! They did everything to make sure we got our beautiful holiday!
Thank you so much to everyone at The Wight for saving our holiday and making sure me and my partner had an amazing stay!

We booked and paid for 7 nights at this hotel. We are two adults, and two kids (one of which is a toddler). First, the good stuff: the hotel has parking, it has a pool, reception is okay, breakfast was all right. Staff were super friendly the whole time. This is a family-owned/run hotel, and you could see the positive attitude of everyone working there. Which is great!
Now the not-so-good stuff. This hotel comes up in the searches as a 4-star. That was the basis of our booking. It’s not. It’s a 3-star with a 4-star “accommodation”.
We booked a family room, but it was actually two adjoining rooms. One was a standard smallish room with en-suite, and the other was a tiny room with two single beds. Some might favor this arrangement, but it was not good for us and our toddler. I ended up sleeping in the double bed with the baby, and my husband and daughter slept in the small room.
The bed was the worst I have ever slept in. The mattress was so old, I got bruises from the springs that dig into me all night. The pillows weren’t much better. The beds in the small room has dark red sheets and duvets on them. Very old fashioned and gives you the feeling of uncleanliness.
The bathroom was also below expectations. Sink had a double tap for hot and cold, shower pressure was so low it took ages to rinse out my hair, and the floor was linoleum - total mismatch to the pink wall tiles, but hey at least it was clean.
The decor was very old and bland in general throughout the hotel.
Now I understand the past year has been hard on hospitality, but there’s no excuse for a mattress that’s 10 years old.
Also the restaurant was open from 8:15 am to 9:45 am. That’s the entire hour and a half that you could get food at the hotel. Sure there are restaurants nearby but you don’t always want a big meal in the evening - you just want to feed the tired-out kids before bed.
All in all, I wouldn’t go back.
Mum and Dad's 60th Anniversary

Took my Mum and Dad to The Wight to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in June 2021. We put them in a "Superior" room whereas we had a standard double. Both rooms really clean with a good sized TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent with a full choice of different options - cereals, full English, kippers, smoked haddock. We used the pool, steam room and jacuzzi too. Lovely bar open in the evening with entertainment too. Catering staff, cleaning staff and reception staff all very polite and engaging. Will definitely be back.
