A little underwhelming until we met Deadra at the front desk
We traveled during Covid because of a mandatory health appointment at a local hospital. We booked what looked to be a hotel that had all amenities inside so we wouldn't have to travel outside often but still be near the beach. Room service and the restaurant were closed due to Covid. The bar menu did not have any adequate vegetarian options. The location was spot on and if you want to stay in Santa Monica, you can't do any better. The room was missing amenities- one coffee k-cup but no coffee cups and was dirty. There was candy "under" the bed (there is a barrier blocking it from going completely under so it was rather visible), hair on the bathroom sink amenities. The "view" from our room was of an alley and garbage and some clothing that must have blown into the trees. Honestly, the entire thing was a complete and utter fail until we met Deadra. She is the Loews front desk rock star. Everytime we stopped by with a question, she made us feel welcome and was so helpful. She surprised my child with sunglasses to enhance their "cool look" and helped make our trip truly happy. Loews rating = 2. Deadra rating = 100000000
This is one of my favorite hotels. Unfortunately it did not state on website that none of hotel’s facilities were open.
No housekeeping or facilities are open after a long ride from NV. Website doesn’t reflect that. Front desk accommodated w upgrade on room only after asking. Hotel was virtually empty. Too much $$ for no services available
Great location. Not a luxury experience.
The Loews Santa Monica has a premier location at the beach. The prices are the same as other luxury properties in the neighborhood. The service level, rooms, and overall feel is much more like a typical airport hotel. There are many luxury properties nearby at the same or lower prices that provide more of a luxury experience. We moved after one night to a hotel with a lower room rate, a higher level of service, and a feeling that made us feel special.
Tastefully decorated, elegant hotel in a perfect location
My husband, young adult daughter and I spent a few days last October 2019 at Loews Santa Monica Hotel. My husband was attending a reunion of his classmates, and they were all billeted at this hotel. I am glad that my husband and his friends chose to stay at Loews Santa Monica Hotel! It is a beautiful hotel! The lobby is tastefully decorated; we loved hanging out at the lobby while waiting for our friends before we headed out to dinner. The rooms are likewise very comfortable. Loews Santa Monica Hotel is beach-front property, so the location is perfect! The lower ground entrance leads right out to Muscle Beach. Right beside the hotel is the famous Santa Monica Pier, with its boardwalk, eating places, mini-amusement park and Km 66 marker. The front entrance of the hotel opens up to Ocean Avenue, which has so many amazing restaurants that you will not run out of options. A five-minute walk away is Santa Monica Place (mall). We promised to return, this time with the whole family. (Apologies for the delay in writing out this review. After a busy 2019, we are now all staying at home due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Our prayers for everyone’s good health, safety and well-being, including the hotel staff and employees. We look forward to the time when we can all safely travel again and enjoy the hospitality of good hotels like this one.)
Outstanding Customer Service
It’s been almost a week since my stay at the Loew’s in Santa Monica during the Covid-19 pandemic, but I still tear up when I tell the story of the unbelievably amazing customer service that I received from your employee, Deadra, during this unprecedentedly stressful time of travel. First, I received a nice pre-arrival text from her asking if I had any requests. You can imagine my disappointment when I couldn’t get any wine or snacks when I arrived because of the kitchen being closed, but I understood. The next morning, I have to say though, that I was beyond disappointed when I called down to Deadra and found out that I couldn’t even get a pot of hot water, again because of the kitchen closure. I was ready to leave to go to another hotel with better services when she called up to the room. She told me to hold on and that she was going to figure out how to get me what I needed. A knock on the door 30 minutes later and I had a electric kettle, 8 bottles of water, and get this, a chilled bottle of champagne for that night! The tears fall when I realize that Deadra didn’t even know how those seemingly trivial things were so very important to me. You see, I was visiting the area to see my mother-in-law who was recently widowed and is suffering from dementia. It is absolutely heartbreaking. After my time with her, I just want to curl up with a bottle of wine. And she didn’t know that I have an autoimmune disease that requires a special diet, hence the hot water for meals that I bring when I travel. She didn’t have to know these things. Deadra could have just given me the scripted Covid-19 answers, but she went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. It was so appreciated and will never be forgotten. Thank you, Deadra. And thank you, Loew’s, for having employees willing to make sure your guests feel special.
