Small, Budget Hostel
If you are looking for bare minimum accommodations this is your place. The beds are comfortable. The staff is helpful. The location is great. It's a great neighborhood with lots to do. However, you do have to leave your room key at the front desk every time you leave. The bathroom was not clean our first night.
Great location, nice B&B, terrible breakfast and some customer service issues
We stayed here for 2 nights in May. I really liked the hotel in general, and the location is fantastic - a quiet street where you can walk to the myriad of restaurants, bars, shopping centres and other attractions like the San Cristobal cable car and the Gran Torre. We were very happy with our room, it was spacious and homley - the bathroom was a reasonable size, not too small as others noted - perfectly manageable, with excellent water pressure. The gentleman who checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful; he provided great service and is an asset to the hotel. I have marked the hotel down, because of two issues; the breakfast was horrible. I do not expect a lavish spread from a bed and breakfast place, however what was provided was very poor, and at 850 am when I went, there was practically nothing left. The lady at the reception just told me that's what there is and its self serve - ok!! There were no glasses or cutlery, so as the lady quite clearly indicate3d she was not to be bothered, I went into the little room adjoining the dining room and got my own. The main issue I had was my wife who went at 955 am. Breakfast is until 10 am and sure, I don't expect a lot to be left, however there was nothing. She asked the worker there if she could have some juice, maybe some pan - he went down to ask the lady in reception who simply said, no, there is nothing and it finishes at 10 am. This was very poor service; the least they could have done is provide a glass of juice and slice of bread instead of a flat out no. This lady could do with some customer relations training. I have posted a phot of the breakfast at 855 am. The lady who works nigh-shift is quite abrupt as well, she does her job but don't expect an overly friendly greeting. The other staff could take some lessons from the gentleman who checked us in on customer relations. So, in final, please consider this hotel as an option as the rooms are very nice, the hotel is nice, and it is in a fantastic location - just go with the expectation that you will need to breakfast elsewhere.
Cute & comfortable in a beautiful neighbourhood
This tiny hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet neighbourhood, Providencia. It is decorated in an artisanal style -- plain but very clean and moderately priced. It was likely a house which was converted into an inn so the rooms are small. It is close to scores of great restaurants, cafes and good shopping. Be sure to double check your reservation as there was an error on ours. Also we were asked to pay when we checked in and then asked to pay again when we checked out! We had kept the receipt so we were ok.
Great Find in Quiet But Cconvenient Area!
Pros: Great little ethnic-style decor place on a budget! Lovely front patio cafe with truly delicious, generous portions - had an excellent dinner!! ... ceviche (enough for a meal) as a starter and a sautéed Chilean sea bass with calamari on top and a salad of avocado, cucumber, tomato, fennel and delicate bib lettuce! Also a backyard patio to relax shaded by trees and an elegant white fabric strewn in a tent like way. Caveat - I didn't try breakfast due to early morning plans every day. Front desk and cafe staff very helpful and friendly with a bit of English to be understood! Much appreciated! Rooms clean with private large modern shower and sink, large flat screen TV and AC, that open to patio. On quiet safe-residential street but only a 10 min walk to major shopping mall - Costanero, Starbucks and other hotels, cafes, metro, bus stops, bike rentals, city tour buses, etc in the Providencia area of the city. Cons: rooms a bit too dark, lighting was on the dim side, and almost overslept due to cellphone plugged in to charge in a power strip that apparently did not provide current! Cellphone was NOT charged! I was able to charge the next night via a different outlet in the bathroom. The bed was so-so: not as comfortable or new feeling, the pillow feathers felt a bit prickly but there was a 2nd pillow on the bed that was fine. All in all, a real find on a budget in terms of great location (felt like a local resident), very good dinner, and modern bathroom! The feel/environment is like a better quality hostel. I would go back!
A jewel in the Andes
This little hotel is located in the best area of Santiago. It is in a quiet and upscale residential and very safe neighborhood but in EZ walking distance to the Metro, shopping, cafes, and restaurants. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Owned and operated by a mother and son team, they work hard to accommodate any request of the guests. Stayed there for 2 weeks on vacation and loved it. A great location at a great price.
