Super location, lovely apartments and great service

Reviewed 2 december, 2020

My family and I stayed here for a long weekend in the capital. We found the apartment to be quite spacious, it had very comfy beds and nice sheets. The service was fantastic! The breakfast was anything but "continental." Multiple kinds of fresh fruit, fresh juice, toast, eggs, pancakes, cereal, coffee. A full breakfast. The location of Casa Reyes was perfect for us to visit the Zona Colonial. Thanks to the staff! We loved it!

New, but lacking in so many ways

Reviewed 13 january, 2018

Finding a good room at a reasonable price in Santo Domingo can be quite a challenge. I booked this hotel through Delta thinking that they had done some screening of good hotels. This one was listed as "new" and offered a "Jr Suite" for less than $100, with breakfast! Wow! What a deal! When we arrived from the airport, around midnight, it looked ok from the outside. The facade is new and the sign is very tasteful. It was up a flight of stairs to get to the reception, which felt strange, but not too bad. The bad part was when we had to lug all our bags down a long narrow hallway and then go BACK down narrow, curving stairs to get to our room at the back of the hotel. The room was very bare with tile floors & a small kitchen area. There was something like a love seat in there, but not really usable. There were three chairs around the table, but only two could be used at a time. There was a very small window that opened onto a parking lot that became very active about 6 am. There was not even any water in the room to drink or brush teeth with, other than the non-potable tap water. The bedroom was very small, very dark and claustrophobic. There no closet, just a coat rack to "hang" clothes from. The "window" opened to a shaft that was devoid of light. The bath looked pretty nice, but there was close to zero water pressure on the hot water side, meaning that taking a shower was a major time consuming effort. We placed a toiletry kit on the shelf in the bathroom and it promptly fell off the wall. The breakfast, served in our room, consisted of two cups of completely cold coffee (as in, maybe brewed the night before), a few slices of old pineapple some rolled up ham slices & rolled up cheese. I microwaved the coffee and left the rest. We went about our errands, returning to the hotel around 3 pm to discover that NOTHING had been done to our rooms. Even that stale, cold breakfast was still sitting there on the table where we'd left it. It was disgusting. Even though we'd paid for two nights, we packed our bags and left.

Good price big rooms

Reviewed 3 january, 2018

All staff in hotel are very attentive to every need. Rooms recently renovated we enjoy the bed, pillows and liners and amenities, we had a good and quiet sleep in their orthopedic bed. Breakfast is very good and included in room rate and is taken to your room every morning. Location is excellent if your plans are to walk and visit the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. Hotel is within walking distance of all shops, landmarks and museum. Recommended for several nights because rooms are big, with separate kitchen and living room

Good price but bad room

Reviewed 4 november, 2017

The ceiling is leaking just as it was in December 2016. Cable tv did not work for the 8 days I was there. The wifi works when it feels like it. The staff is excellent but the hotel needs some repairs and soon.

Not what expected!

I was looking for a nice and cozy hotel on the colonial zone of Sto. Dgo. I wasn't looking for something fancy and i tought this hotel was the one. The recepcionist was eating when i arrived and another employee open the door, the room was pretty nice, big and with a lot of things for the guest to use. The bed is comfortable and the room in general too. I think if they know the check-in of a guest is around 3PM they should turn on the fridge of the room and they should have soaps in the bathrooms i have to asked for them. In general, i think is a good hotel because it only have like a month working.. some minor things to adjust but it's a good option to stay.
