Highly recommend

Breakfast has many creative and excellent choices and was very well made. Nette was a wonderful hostess. She was so thoughtful and kind in many ways. We enjoyed the restaurant she recommended for dinner. Our room was very comfortable and clean.

Enjoyable stay

Lovely gothic building steeped in history at the top of Beer village but with all mod cons. We were in Room 8 which is a long room, complete with everything you need including a small fridge. Colin was very hospitable and made sure we were comfortable (I needed extra heating) and nothing was too much trouble. I didn't make it down to breakfast but my sister bought me up fruit and toast which was enough for me. The room is tastefully furnished and Beer is a lovely little place. Happily recommended.

Fabulous

Reviewed 6 august, 2022

We have just returned from a stay at Durham House and it was a very pleasant experience. Nette and Col are great hosts and nothing appears to be too much trouble to make sure you stay is as comfortable as possible. The room was spotless as was the ensuite with good quality linen and towels. We were impressed by the provision of full tea and coffee making facilities together with a fridge and a quality television. The breakfast offering is comprehensive and the avocado & mushroom plate was good enough to tempt a committed "full English" fan into several repeat orders during our stay. I am sure it can't be bettered in Beer.

Great return visit

Welcoming guest house in the heart of Beer. Nette & Colin looked after us so well. Good breakfasts with veggie choices. Comfortable room, nice touches such as small fridge with water & fresh milk, a good hairdryer, plenty of crisp white towels etc. etc. Help with suggestions for dinner bookings & trips. Very good value for money.

Fabulous stay!

The room was absolutely spotless and bigger than expected with a small sofa area, TV and fridge, as well as tea and coffee. Hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing, perfect smashed avocado on sourdough with plenty of coffee and extras. As a vegetarian it was so refreshing to have three options on the menu! Incredible value for money and perfect location for exploring Beer. Thank you!
