Avoid

Elevator not working. All 8 floors must use tiny slow service elevator. Crowded and full. This morning man on our floor not wearing mask so we walked eight floors to avoid a dangerous COVID situation. WiFi is worthless and tv has few channels and distorted picture.

A Very Nice Place to Stay!

Opinión escrita el 11 de junio de 2020

My sisters and I stayed at the Inn for three nights, one was there for surgery at Virginia Mason Hospital. The Inn is conveniently located adjacent to the hospital. It was quiet and clean (This was during the Covid shutdown). Our Junior Queen Suite was roomy enough that we all had our own space. Three large windows let in lots of light. The beds were very comfortable, the linens clean. We had a very comfortable couch, table and chairs as well as micro and mini fridge. The bathroom was very large, the shower wonderful. Parking is very close. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - it's clear they take pride in working at this Inn. The elevator was in the process of being repaired, so we used the service elevator, which was very serviceable and fast enough. The manager was very friendly, explaining the history of Inn and of the Baroness across the street; this is a historic district of Seattle. We walked the streets to see some of beautiful old buildings in the area, just wish we'd had enough time to make it down to the waterfront which is (I think) only about 9 blocks away. We all decided we will come back and stay again, just to take in the sights. It's a value for the location, cleanliness, and comfort it provides. Well done!

Disorganized to an astonishing degree

Opinión escrita el 21 de febrero de 2020

I will start this tale with a note that after the events related below, they made the majority of my stay complementary. The hotel is quite elderly and is half of a pair with the Baroness, across the street. The main elevator was out, so we had to go to a service elevator in a dark stairwell. The rooms are small and dated but the first night was ok for the price. The fun began on my first full day when I came back from a conference and discovered I didn't have my key. I went down to the front desk to get another one, and they told me I had checked out the previous night(?!) Furthermore they had packed up all my stuff (clothes had been hanging up, etc) and locked them up in the housekeeping closet. They told me I would not be able to get any of my clothes, toiletries or anything else until the next morning! And then it turned out the hotel was full, so they sent me across the street with just the clothes I had on and my backpack to the Baroness, which is even older. The next morning the desk staff did not know what I was talking about when I came to get my suitcase. Eventually housekeeping came in, notes from the previous night were found (contradictory in details) and my suitcase appeared with all but my toothbrush in it, but it was a pretty uncomfortable night. They had my cell number, but no one called to see why all my stuff was in the room. The explanation was that someone *else* had checked out and said they were in (my room number) and caused all the confusion to start.

Not your usual hotel, but for a more select clientele

Opinión escrita el 7 de enero de 2020

This is a hotel for the convenience and comfort of persons either undergoing treatment at the hospital or their companions and families. It is older, probably dating to the 20s or so. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are small but functional, and the beds are comfortable. We have stayed here six times, overnight, since July of 2019. The staff have always been kind and accommodating to our needs. This is a hotel for an "in, sleep, get up and go," use, and is perfect for that purpose. It is not a resort hotel, nor is it a tourist stop. It fills a very specific need for persons who need that niche filled, and does it very well. It is true that "modernization could be achieved, and it appears that repainting and updating is going on, albeit gradually. For its specific purposes, the assistance of persons involved with patients or treatment at Virginia Mason Hospital needing overnight accommodations, it is first rate and remarkably reasonable in its pricing. We recommend it highly, bearing in mind the caveats above.
