Character and comfort with awesome location

Stayed for 3 nights, but wish it was longer. While this resort does not have any stunning views of the red rocks, it is tucked away in a peaceful area, very centrally located and you can walk to so many shops and restaurants! We found the resort buildings have architectural style and were quite interesting with a layout of meandering walkways along a water feature with historical significance to the city. Plaques stationed throughout the grounds explained the history and this alone made this place worth the visit. Then there is the beautiful green space along Oak creek, enhanced with gardens, waterfall fountain, gazebo, huge fireplace, and funny "rock" tables and chairs. Adjacent to this nature area are the resort's mini golf course, playground, large chess & checker set, and courts for tennis or pickle ball; all appeared well kept.
Our room was a 1 bedroom with a beautiful fireplace in the living room, small kitchen, and a balcony with a hot tub! The suite was clean and comfortable, and not a sound could be heard from the adjoining rooms, or upstairs. Perhaps our room had been refreshed recently as we had no evidence of wear and tear, All was clean and in good condition. I used the couch that makes a bed, and I marveled at how they found a hide-a-bed that had such a comfortable mattress. Usually they are torture, but this one was as comfortable as a normal bed,
The only concern was trying to find parking close to the room which was hard to get if you arrived late, However, we didn't mind a short walk because of all the little surprises we found while exploring the grounds. There is a large parking area in front of the lobby, so that served as overflow.
Overall, we said...we have to come back when we have more time!
Late to town but a convenient location. Some changes/attention needed

I received an email from Diamond Resorts asking me to complete a survey after my stay here. When clicking to start, I was given a notice that I had already completed a survey. Really? Nope. So, arriving late in the day, I checked Priceline. This property was located adjacent to my favorite shopping area. I checked in and was told they needed my credit card for a "$200.00 deposit on the room" although I had pre-paid, so to speak. Then I was told there was a $30.00 add-on "Resort Fee" but that the spa was currently closed and would re-open next week! I had to pay the fee regardless. As I was only staying one night, I was a little annoyed. However, the room was clean and very comfortable. Table and small furniture needed replacement, kitchen was clean and I liked the two-room layout. The guest secure wifi did not connect but the open wifi worked although doing business unsecured for me is risky. I was told that this was being looked into. The house phone in the room was dead. During the night as the AC went on and off, the filter residing in the return grill flopped up and down indicating it needed a retainer to hold it in place. These are small issues but over time, they show a need for attention. Otherwise, the stay was quiet and restful. Oh, and you might check the very resistant front door to the main lobby. Thanks.

Friendly resort but needs improvements

We stayed here for 4 nights in a one bedroom. The check in was smooth and friendly. When we got to our very clean room it was as described in reviews, it needs some refreshing, but it was not that bad and like I said it was very clean, the bed was super comfy, the couch smelled kinna old so I took a bed sheet and covered it and that worked fine. The blow dryer was missing from our room but I called the front desk and one was delivered to our room promptly. Also our in room safe was locked and we could not use it. A lot of the Resorts amenities were not available at the time we stayed which was a little disappointing and there is NO that’s right No maid service for the time we stayed, so that means no clean towels or a refresh of anything. The internet was horrible, in this day and age come on, really! Check out was fast and easy.
so bad it was laughable....

This used to be a decent property, but not any longer. Upon check in we were told the water would be shut off from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. because that was the time that worked for them (not us). I asked to some kind of compensation since if we had known that we would have booked a different property. GM Greg Torres would not compensate us. The room was as described in many other reviews here. When we got to the pool there were no towels. I was told to go to the front desk to get a towel. Although I was not happy about having to go to the lobby in my bathing suit we needed towels so I went. I was then given one towel for my husband and I and told "that's the last towel we have". Really? It's not even the weekend and you have no pool towels? We made it work and settled at the pool until security came and said that there was lightning 7 miles away and the pool was closing. At this point we just started to laugh at the whole experience. I asked again for some kind of compensation but no luck - Mr. Torres stood his ground. Apparently Los Abrigados needs the money to buy more towels. Needless to say we will not return.
