Fantastic Place to Stay in the Selinsgrove Area

I can't say enough about how nice this place is and how friendly the people are that work there. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is very tasty with homemade pastries, etc. I would highly recommend this place. Also, I would recommend booking early if you are coming to town for a special event, etc. It tends to sell out very quickly -- and for good reason!!

Selinsgrove Inn is adorable! I was in town for a conference at Selinsgrove University, and this Inn came highly recommended. It is right on Market Street (the main street) and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the university, and the Isle of Que. The King room was spacious and had a country living kind of vibe. My room also had a Jacuzzi. I was on the front of the building, but couldn't hear much traffic.
The empty lot next door to the Inn used to have the women's dormitory of Selinsgrove University. The Inn seems like it's been there for a long time, with plenty of charm and character, but it is only a few years old.
They offer a complimentary breakfast, which includes hot and cold items, and there is complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate all day. Definitely stay at Selinsgrove Inn when in town!
Cosy place to stay during a trip to Selinsgrove/ Susquehanna University

I stayed here for 1 night during an overnight visit to Susquehanna University. There was one aspect of my stay at this hotel which really pleased me and so I am happy to write a positive review.
Check-out at this hotel, like practically all other hotels, was at 11 a.m. However, during the one night I stayed here, I had a lousy sleep, in large measure because I had a large pot of coffee at 10 p.m. that night. I wondered if I could attend to my business during the day in Selinsgrove, and then take a short nap before I hit the road for getting back home. In order to get this plan to work out though, I would have to be able to check out around 6 p.m. I requested the lady at the counter the morning I was supposed to check out, fully expecting to have my request denied. I mean - who lets you check out at 6 p.m.? And yet, I was so surprised to see that the lady at the front desk was willing to let me check out that late, because as she explained, the room hadn't been sold and it looks like there were a couple of vacant rooms available and she would be able to oblige me. And that is exactly how things worked out and I was rested before I hit the road for my drive back home.
Apart from this exceptionally generous offer of letting me check out that late, I enjoyed my breakfast that morning. It is a cut above what you see at most hotels these days. A thumb-rule I often use to distinguish between places is whether the place uses paper plates or not and I am happy to see that they do not use paper plates for their patrons for breakfast.
If I am taking away one star, that is primarily because when I was using the desk the night before, I did not find it very clean. At some point, I took a paper towel and cleaned it myself because it felt icky otherwise. And the other thing which I did not like about the place was their AC unit. I appreciate being able to set a certain temperature and head over to bed without worrying about what “low heat” or “high heat” mean. That night I wasn’t able to get the temperature level quite right and the room was warmer than what I would have liked it to be with the “low heat” setting on. But switching off the unit was also not in question, given that outside temperatures were about 30F. Had I been able to set a certain temperature, I think I would have liked that option more. Now I don’t expect management to change their AC units out overnight; that’s hugely expensive. However, when they do change their units, I hope they will keep this feedback in mind.
Lastly, things do get sold out way in advance for popular weekends like Homecoming. As I was waiting to talk to the receptionist, I could overhear him telling a couple that all but one room had been sold out for that weekend, which was nearly a year away at that point. Therefore, if you are looking to stay here during Graduation or Homecoming, do make your reservations far in advance.
All in all, a respectable hotel where I would be happy to stay again.

Cannot say enough how wonderful this place is. It is clean, safe, comfortable. The staff could not be more wonderful. To sit in the evening outside on the rocking chairs. Fantastic Place don't miss out on this gem!!!!
If I could pick one thing they should improve on is to have the security locks on room doors not just the deadbolt.
