Service below expectations

I am a Toyoko Inn club member and have stayed in numerous Toyoko Inn branches all over Japan and this was the first time I had actualy met with a broken aircon.
The aircon was not working properly and it took 3 visits for the reception to come up to check (after fiddling with buttons and asking me to monitor for awhile more) before finally providing me with a fan/cooler for the night. Room change was not possible as the hotel was full that night.
It wasted alot of my time and honestly I expected something (a discount for the next stay or something due to the inconveniences I faced) but there was nothing.
Also considering the name, this hotel is quite far from the station exit.
Famous gyutan restaurants are nearby though, as well as convenience stores
Typically good stay.

Stayed one night and found the room clean and comfortable.
It is an easy 5 minute walk from Sendai Station which has
numerous eating places.
Little or no noise from street traffic or trains. Breakfast is
provided and is a little Japanese and a little Western.
Would stay again.
5 min walk to Sendai station

The location of this hotel is nice, just 5 min walk from Sendai JR station.
Sutaff are helpful, the price is reasonable, and there is a convenience store in front of the hotel. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms. There is a car parking behind the hotel, not free. On the way to hotel from Sendai station, you can easiy find restaurants and beer bar.
Breakfast is free and enogh.
a great VALUE hotel chain

To summarize other reviews, it should be noted that the main reason to consider a Toyoko Inn is the value, meaning a great price for a comfortable "business" type hotel. It should be expected that the rooms will be smaller than higher priced hotels and one can always get a larger room and still pay less than other chain hotels. Rooms are VERY clean and every inch of space is designed for efficiency. For example, beds are slightly elevated and instructions in the room recommend that suitcases will fit under the beds. If a larger room is desired for 1 person, as an example, rather than getting a "single" room, which means a twin bed, if you get a "double", meaning one double bed, the room will be larger for just a few dollars more and would still be cheaper than a "higher" level hotel. The breakfast is excellent and adds to the value. Staff are very friendly and during our stay, several spoke reasonable English. One note to consider if you are a person that likes to ship suitcases ahead or to the airport. Toyoko will ship a suitcase to another Toyoko but not to the airports. This is a good option if you're traveling around the country and staying at another Toyoko. Beats using a coin locker at the train station to store a bag. The walk to/from the station, as others have mentioned, is about 5-10 min and is a flat walk, so no worries about hills. Simply head west on the main street to the station; quite easy compared to some other inns. I would definitely stay here again. We had a room facing the train tracks and were not bothered by the noise. The one personal preference that might dissuade others is that the mattresses are hard.
Comfortable Hotel but a bit too far from Sendai Station

Check in very late 4 pm when compared to other hotel. and very far from Sendai Station
It has a double bed room with enough space for two with good hospitality staff & good wifi. It's good to have breakfast even it's basic.
