The rooms (and bathroom) were small. We were happy we only had our backpack with us and that our luggage was sent to the next hotel. As a family of four, we were hosted in two separate rooms (without connectiing doors). There are free soft-drinks, tea and coffee near the reception for free. There were as well massage chairs available for free. The breakfast was decent.
One of the best hotel for sightseeing tourism Omi-Hachiman and the around the Lake Biwa
Even though the price setting of accommodation is reasonable, all of facilities including each rooms are very clean, and the correspondence of all staffs is very polite. There is a department where you can drink beverages for free in the lobby. If I mention the shortcomings, one of them is the public bath on the first floor. It does not have the taste such as a hot spring inn. Because there are few facilities to wash the body like shower, it may be kept waiting if a lot of people going to the public bath. Another one is that it is a bit far from the station, and there are not much restaurants around of it. However, even with these shortcomings, the hotel is a great base for sightseeing tourism of Omi-Hachiman and the around the Lake Biwa.
We stayed here only for one night because my boyfriend wanted to see Okishima - the cat island in Lake Biwa. At first impression it was just another Japanese "business hotel", with bigger room than those in Tokyo. Only one receptionist (middle aged lady) could speak English, the other couldn't, but they were very helpful. The next morning on our way to check out, we wanted to go early to catch a ferry from Horikiri to Okishima but after asking our way to the receptionist (a middle aged guy who spoke absolutely no English) we found out that the first bus to go to Horikiri port was at 08.40 and it meant we had to catch later ferry and it would complicate our schedule since we had to be at Kyoto station at noon. He knew our problem very well and that we were sad to not being able to make it to Okishima, and he told us to follow another staff who was driving us personally to Horikiri. It was a five-star service although the hotel was not. I recommend this place to anyone who is coming to visit this place.
Basic traditional motel
We spent our first night in Shiga prefecture in the Green hotel. The Room was very small by American standards especially since we had bags for a two week stay. Very clean with traditional Japanese beds and pillows. The staff was very helpful and we had a modest breakfast layout.
If you need a basic stay in Omihachiman - this is a good option.
Budget hotel in walking distance of the station and the shops/entertainment area around the station. The Biwa lake is not anywhere close (8 miles). The room is basic but clean. An indoor onsen is available, If you need a basic stay in Omihachiman this is a good option.
