Sleep somewhere else
This place is well located in the heart of South Padre. End of the good news. Rooms are dirty and filthy. Breakfast is poor and the breakfast area is really dirty. I’m not picky when I travel but I would not recommend this AT ALL.
2.5 Stars, Simply Low-Class
2.5 Stars. One of the cheapest places on the island to book especially in short notice which is why we chose it. You get what you pay for – horrible Wi-Fi that cuts in and out, loud neighbors fighting, stained walls, carpets, and furniture, and having to ask for every shower towel since housekeeping wouldn’t replace them. But generally it’s a fine location on the island, we felt relatively safe, and the vibe was simply low-class. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel room except to shower and sleep which is how most people should be vacationing.
A budget hotel which does what it says !
This hotel is a budget hotel and does not shy away from the fact that it is one. However, this does not mean that this is a "Bad" hotel in any sense. Any hotel which provides you the basic stuff that you need is in itself a good one and this does do that. What makes it a better hotel, is if you enter the room and find that the things are clean-ish, and there are enough accessories like towels etc. (and this one does that too). Location wise it was in a great area where you can walk and go to bars as well as go get food. Breakfast -- Did not partake, will not comment :) Overall, would return back for the price point, and location
Recent stay on the island
We recently stayed at the South Padre Island Inn for roughly for 5 days... The hotel is easily accessible from Padre Boulevard... We had a second floor room real close to the stairs so it was convenient. However the ice machine was broken downstairs... So you had to Lug your ice cooler upstairs to get ice. The continental breakfast was limited... Wasn't the best but at least they provided something. The hotel is aged... It could use some upgrades but that. But overall it was a pleasant stay.
Encountered issued in our two day stay
This hotel was closed to the beach and offered breakfast which was very convenient in our stay, specially for the price we payed for. But since the morning we go in we had issues with our key and that made us very anxious. We couldn't go in an out of our room without having to ask for help to the receptionist, no matter how many times they scanned or replaced our cards, and we were locked out at times when we most needed to go into our rooms. Technical problems happen which I understand but it got on our way a lot. On the second day, we woke up to not having water. We couldn't use the toilet or shower, that was very irritating, it took almost a whole day before they fixed it.
