Weekend break

Reviewed 22 november, 2022

Booked Friday until Monday , never stopped before ,but will definitely go back, excellent hotel as they allow dogs, from car park, right onto the beach which was ideal . Staff so friendly, rooms spotless, breakfast even with dietary requirements excellent. See you soon.

Disappointing stay and rude staff.

I booked 2 singles for 19th October. I later discovered via the website to expect noise from function rooms but I booked in person and was not warned about possible noise when I booked. We were put in rooms 112 and 114 - about as close to the lobby as you can get and were not warned about the karaoke same night. Surely it would have made sense to put the revellers in those rooms and us further away but instead we had to endure the noise which sounded like it was coming from the bar and not a function room. Yes, I should have asked reception to move me but I doubt they would have heard me if I called from my room because it was so loud, and to actually go to reception meant I would’ve had to change and repack my belongings, causing more inconvenience. At the very least we should’ve been warned on arrival about the noise so I could’ve had the chance to cancel our stay instead of wasting £160. Then, at breakfast, I noticed a basket of biscuits. It was partially covered but I didn’t know that meant diners weren’t allowed any. I took some and went back to my table. Straightaway a waitress (blonde bob, middle aged) stormed over and snapped “EXCUSE ME! You’re NOT allowed to take the biscuits out of the hotel! THAT’S why they’re covered up!” And snatched the biscuits away. There are nicer ways of reprimanding customers, but this woman’s attitude was bullying and embarrassing - and loud enough for the rest of the room to hear. I was long looking forward to my stay but I’m sorry I bothered.

Faded and cheap.

Very basic overall. Everywhere in need of refurbishment. Conservatory windows are filthy. Breakfast very poor: orange juice concentrate instead of pure orange juice - so the cheapest option, and tastes nothing like fresh juice. God knows what was in the sausages. I would be interested to know the meat content because they tasted of nothing. Coffee was tasteless - I got the impression the cheapest version of everything is served to guests. Staff friendly enough.

The Best Hotel in The North East

Reviewed 13 november, 2022

3 of us arrived for a 2 night stay and we were greeted with the friendliest staff I have ever seen❗️ From the beginning to the end of our stay the staff were truly magnificent ❗️ And I include all of the staff…from the upfront girls to the cleaners to the restaurant staff…all went above what you would normally expect…Wonderful…As for the Hotel itself…it is in a most picturesque location…glorious sandy beaches…ships and ferries going past your window…and the restaurant serves just what you would expect…excellent meals at a very good price …I cannot praise this hotel and everyone involved enough and I personally cannot wait to make another booking as soon as possible…10 STARS for me❗️❗️❗️

Absolutely brilliant

I have stayed here for several weeks on business and nothing is too much bother for the staff here. I got my room changed the first stay here as it was downstairs and near the entrance so a bit busy for me. No fuss was made and I was moved upstairs. The food is excellent - and one evening I was looking for salmon which was not on the menu, the waitress spoke to the chef and I had the most delicious salmon dish. The next night monkfish was on the menu and was the best food I have had when staying away from home. Staff are lovely and friendly, which makes a difference. Recommend this hotel to everyone.
