Stunning from the moment we arrived. Myself and two friends shared 3 beautiful platters full of delicate delicious treats.
Ariane and Jamie are Yalbury Cottage so friendly so professional, their success is well deserved.
The garden is stunning where we soaked up the tranquility once the weather brightened up, 5 hours of bliss thankyou so much five stars to share with others we'll be back 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

My wife and I ate here as non residents and had a lovely evening. The hotel is set in a beautiful area and has a lovely garden and outdoor area.
We received a very warm welcome and all of the staff throughout the evening were friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. Despite being fine dining the portion sizes are good and after 3 courses I was stuffed. A fixed price commensurate to how many courses you had included canapes, amuse bouche and bread.
Drinks prices are reasonable too.
Just, ok overnight stay...

The owner and staff were pleasant, the surrounding gardens beautiful, a lovely touch of brownies and fresh Yalbury Cottage spring water in the room. But, the room was very disappointing. It smelt musty, had mould on the edges of carpet and mildew in the bathroom. The following morning my partners jeans were wet from being on the carpet, I realised then that there was a leak running into the bedroom from the bathroom. I told the staff, I was simply thanked for "letting them know". Not a word was mentioned at check-out or any offer of even a small amount of discount or apology. I didn't mind the issues at all these things happen, but the difference with valuing customers is how you handle any issues. If you're vegetarian, breakfast options limited, VERY tasty considering, mind you but extremely small - tomatoes, mushrooms and some beans. Dry yoghurt and granola and partners egg was runny. Also, it may be dog friendly, but, you're not allowed dogs in the restaurant, nor are you allowed to eat in the lounge where dogs are permitted, nor are you offered room service. As the restaurant was fully booked, we were also told the lounge is for restaurant guests "looking to unwind after dinner" so even felt as though we couldn't use the room which was a little strange. Staff member kindly offered to reserve table at their sister cafe in Dorchester, but we went to a really lovely pub 4 minutes down the road, instead. Was expensive though. All in all, a £200 night away including dinner and we feel we lost out and didn't feel like our custom was valued at all :-(

It was out first visit to Yalbury Cottage since we'd stayed there on our wedding night 22 years ago. It did not disappoint. The menu was really good, hard to choose between dishes as everything sounded so fabulous. The food WAS indeed fabulous, presented so beautifully and tasted just divine. Staff were attentive but not over bearing, just perfect, couldn't have felt more welcome. Yalbury Cottage casts shade over many London restaurants I have visited. We will return soon. Thank you.
Exceeded our expectations

We celebrated our anniversary here and cannot wait for the next special occasion to go back!
I love the fact that it's family run, the owners were absolutely lovely and the rest of the staff all super nice.
The cottage itself has a lot of character, the room was cosy and the restaurant and lounge delightful.
But what really exceeded our expectations here was the food. Every single thing we ate was just delicious, the menu had a really good selection and everything was locally sourced and handmade. The presentation and the flavours were just unbelievable, and I definitely wasn't left hungry... Just WOW!
Definitely recommend both eating and staying, and cannot wait to go again!
