Staycations don't come any better than this!

A great place from which to explore Devon, close to main roads, this is a real gem. An old coach house, beautifully converted - each room spacious, well appointed with an en-suite, lovely towels and linen, a super suntrap of a patio with a BBQ, large living room and a well equipped kitchen. Everything was immaculately clean.
The hosts Rosey and Steve are always on hand to give advice, but never intrusive, generous and hospitable to the extreme. (Rosey was happy to take a Tesco delivery pre our arrival in these half unlocked Covid-times!)
The views around there are quite breath-taking, and the birdsong we enjoyed on the patio was wonderful. There are great walks from there, Exmoor is in easy reach, so are the North Devon beaches and frankly, you are twenty minutes away from the M5 to go anywhere you like.
Knighthayes is a must see (National Trust) with stunning views, so is Tarr Steps on Exmoor and at least one of the spectacular sandy beaches Putsborough or Saunton Sands. The village pub wasn't open for food, but a great friendly place for a drink.
The house works fantastically for an adult family get-together, but judging by Rosey's welcome treats the food for the B&B, when lockdown allows again, would also be great. Each room is a good size, and the communal area comfy.
What a fantastic choice for a first holiday in over 15 months, post lockdown. Highly recommended.
Perfect host and beautiful house

We spent a fantastic 10 days staying at Stoodleigh Court Coach House. The house is very well appointed, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Rosie is a very welcoming host but never overbearing - and the welcome hamper is simply delicious! Highly recommended to anyone considering a trip to mid Devon.
Beautiful place, lovely hosts

We rented the rooms as a unit for a self catering post-Covid family holiday. It was immaculately clean and Rosey and Steve couldn’t be more helpful. On their advice we had ordered a box of food from Bampton Fresh, a great organic / zero waste shop, and they also provided the ingredients for generous cooked breakfasts. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and feeding six people and a lovely place to prepare meals with space for everyone to help. The bedrooms were all lovely, each with its own bathroom, which is a real luxury for self catering! Very comfortable beds and some beautiful ornaments, making it feel as though you are staying with friends. The communal area is spacious and comfortable and opens out onto a private patio area that catches the sun all day. It’s very quiet and with little light pollution we enjoyed walking out at night and watching bats, and there are plenty of options for local walks. This is a place that has everything going for it and I can’t recommend it highly enough if you’re looking for somewhere for a group holiday.
Well looked after

My husband and I booked an anniversary two night stay with exclusive use of the B&B. The setting is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, the accommodation spotlessly clean and Rosey and Steve looked after us very well. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring stunning Exmoor and Dunster Castle as well as Croyde Beach - a lovely stay!

Stayed here for a long weekend in January on a Yoga Retreat. I stayed in The Snug; a lovely room with a huge bathroom. Great to have the use of a kitchen to make cups of tea etc.
The yoga took place in a barn in the back garden which has been lovingly restored. A perfect space to do yoga as it was so peaceful. The teacher Claire from Exmoor Yoga was brilliant. Really knowledgeable and supportive. We all received a massage after our second yoga session which was so relaxing. We followed this with a soak in the hot tub. Gorgeous!
Rosey and Steve run the B&B and are such a friendly and welcoming couple I really felt at home. The food (all vegetarian) was varied and delicious and I came away with all the recipes!
I would highly recommend the B&B - so many places nearby to visit and would recommend the Yoga Retreat too. I didn't know the other guests on the retreat but came away feeling they were firm friends. It was perfect.
