More about the hotel
Always a pleasure!
We have worked with Oakwood for several years for our event and have had zero issues. From the booking of event center, to rooms for our guests, to the restaurant everything, every time has been great. Including the most time of on again off again due to the pandemic. We will book again just as soon as we are able.
Wonderful Staff
The lake is wonderful to look at. The room was okay. The service from LaToya, Richard, Karika, and Afrka from the hotel restaurant was phenomenal. I believe we were waited on by a young lady named Emma as well. They all provided excellent service. From our experience, the people working there are the real attractions.
Accommodations arranged by company
We were in the area having done service work on our RV. The company doing the work contracts with this hotel to accommodate guests that have to be displaced from their RV during times of extended service etc. We just had an overnight stay, view of the lake although it was a gray gloomy day. Nice setting, room was adequate with bed, table snd 2 chairs snd a couch, tv. No hair blower in room. Our bathroom did have a urine smell. No microwave but there was a mini fridge. Restaurant attached to the hotel seemed overpriced. Continental style breakfast included with the room too. WiFi included.
A quiet September stay
The room was cute and clean. They had no heat in a 66 degree room. They brought a space heater. The breakfast was fair. The tub is in need of a non slip surface. Both my husband and myself almost slipped. We did enjoy the cruise.
Masks not required
If you are concerned about COVID-19, this is not the place for you. Housekeeping and maintenance personnel are not required to wear masks (and therefore do not) and front desk personnel wore their mask under their nose. Guest were allowed to walk through the lobby and converse with staff without wearing masks. Minimal signage and available hand sanitizer - I only saw one station.
