Top service by front desk staff
The front desk upgraded my standard room to suite. The suite is really big and they also provided fruits and tofu puddings for welcome gifts. After checking out I found I left my cellphone in the room I was really worried.. However， I was told they found the phone and kept it for me for pickup. Thanks for attentive service！
Disgusting staff in the cafeteria
Would have given this place a solid 4 if it wasn’t for this staff member (pictured) in the cafeteria who made my trip to the buffet uncomfortable. I paid a substantial amount only to be subject to poor quality food and harassment by this chef. I’m not sure what his name is but he approached me while I was getting food insisting on conversing with me when I was trying to mind my own business. Throughout the night he continued to make me feel uncomfortable by following me around the buffet area and staring me down, even in the presence of my partner. All we wanted to do was enjoy a good meal, keep to ourselves and not have to be subject to lurid and degrading behaviour from a staff member of a hotel promising a 5 star experience. Perhaps you should do a more thorough background check on your employees.
Quality and Amazing Views at a Budget Price.
This is a top class hotel. We had a large room with great views of Mt Tai. The hotel has an enormous reception area with an attractive light display and a small self service coffee bar. Staff were friendly and helpful but bar staff had no idea on how to serve a gin and tonic although they could produce a very good coffee. We ordered a meal - in room dining, and received a beautifully presented meal with additional food at a very reasonable price .Beds were comfortable and linen of excellent quality. There is an unusual room layout with the bath alcove protruding into the bed area and with glass walls! Privacy is achieved with electric blinds. There is free Wifi but despite 100 TV channels - there are no English language channels. We would certainly recommend a stay at this hotel.
Few faults turned me off
Hotel looks excellent from outside and in Double Bed is Huge No Sugar and Milk provided though Tea and Coffee maker in the room with limited (2 of each) Tea Bags and Coffee Sachets Breakfast is ordinary but for those who can eat lunch as a breakfast, there are plenty of lunch dishes are on breakfast spread table, even there's New Zealand ice cream one can enjoy at breakfast time Worst policy of the hotel is, one can smoke inside the room and I found very difficult to breathe time to time. I don't know, why this hotel allows smoking inside the room
Stunning looking hotel ... but ...
Arrived at the hotel, took a look from the outside and thought, wow. Lovely. Got inside, and the foyer was cavernous as were the rooms but so poorly laid out. It had the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in, the size of two doubles together and extremely comfortable. But it was so big, and placed towards the rear of the room that it meant there was poor access to the sofa chair and office table also at the end of the room. The bathroom and toilet again was very modern but very poorly designed. Don’t know what they were thinking, but clearly, they didn’t. Staff were good but trying to get any western style drinks was a farce. No idea. This actually applied to all the hotels we stayed in on this trip.
