PUBIC HAIR & COVID COFFEE
Booked this hotel at $149 rate over the weekend. The room was a mess. It's under construction which they don't disclose. They took ZERO precautions for covid other than a flap of plastic wrap across the front desk. Front desk agent was not wearing a mask, touched her face, her keyboard, our paperwork, no gloves, so sanitizer in sight. Then I looked to my right, and next to the front desk were urns of coffee with community creamer (we called it COVID creamer. They clearly don't bother to take even the slightest precautions. Then upon entering the room, my daughter had to go potty. I always glance around....and there was PUBIC HAIR hanging off of the baseboard! Not one, not 2...a disgusting amount. I called down numerous times (not to complain, not to ask for money back, but just to see if we could swap rooms. No answer) I get it, hotels are beyond short staffed and run thin. But come on. Providing community coffee literally takes more work than taking it away. They had magazines out...a BASIC no-no in COVID world. No social distancing signs. No sanitizers. Just disgusting. For over $300 when all was said and done, I would have been better off sleeping in the car. Shameful to just not give any care to safety.

This place is horrible. I am here for more nights due to buisness. Will not come back. I generally stay at Hilton properties and this was my first foray into the world of Marriott. It will be the last. A queen suite has only a small double bed. People are rude,so called love seat sits lower than my suitcase laid down,childsize everything. I don't know what they supposedly clean with but it smells like very old dog. I thought I would try outside the box but was not expecting a hobbit hole ( not a good one either, as I like hobbits ) Do yourself a favor...... keep driving up Capitol Circle ! I will add pictures to this review asap..... the double bed is wholly uncomfortable! 2000.00 for this.... waste of money. Ps they don't return it. Marriott No More !
I booked 2 rooms with a friends and family rate. I get an email from a manager Tyler Handley on a Sunday evening informing me that this rate cannot be accommodated and the regular rate will be $179. I called on 1/13 and Tyler was not available. I left a message for another manager and said they would call me be as they were walking to property. That never happened. I emailed Tyler back asking for a call back and as of 1/14 at 11 AM that has not happened either. I called the hotel and spoke with the "Assistant General Manager" Jose Rodriguez. I explained why I was calling and he knew exactly what I was referring too and instantly had an attitude and said verbatim "I don't have to honor any rate especially a explorer rate." I said well if the rate was not supposed to be available I understand, but it showed available to be booked, which is why I reserved it. He said there was a system glitch as what the regional manager advised. I tried to explain that i have a confirmed booking with the rate and it has to be honored and he continued to state that he does not have to anything and that he is not going to go back and forth about the same issue. He then said we will just cancel the reservations and hung up. I would never expect that from anyone working in a management position. Now I do not know if I have reservations at this hotel as I am not going to call the hotel. If in fact they cancelled my reservations then I better not be charged for them. Now I am stranded and have to find accommodations elsewhere. Reading the last few reviews for this hotel explained a lot about the integrity of this hotel. STAY AWAY!!!
WARNING ~ UNSAFE!!! This hotel is making me hate Marriott and their customer service!!!
We are longtime reward members (Titanium Elite), and we have the Ritz credit card. We had a HOMELESS person in our hotel and checked out early. We have a 15 year old daughter. There was no way we were staying in a unsafe place. THIS PROPERTY IS UNFIT!!!!! I checked us out of the hotel the following morning. The hotel manager DIS NOT check us out when requested. I got a notification at about 5pm when my room that was vacant since before 12! I called the hotel and checked us out AGAIN! They have not yet refunded our money, AND they surely resold the room ~ it was Parents Weekend. The customer service departments with Marriott and Chase (to dispute the charge) are absolutely HORRENDOUS. All of this does not even begin to get into how we were promised two queens beds and one was a couch bed that we had to make ourselves! The mattresses are ancient. The area is super sketchy. The young man at the front desk who checked us in was great! Marriott needs to move him somewhere decent. How can Marriott put their name on this property? How can the hotel manager be as high as I can go complaining with Marriott? How does my credit card company let them charge me for unsafe conditions? Thank you Trip Advisor for allowing me to speak. I was not “invited” to place a review on the Marriott site. I am quite sure that I never will be, now. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
This is a suite hotel and is older with much needed updating. The pool was closed and the grounds need landscape mulching. The bed was comfortable and I like that you can open the windows for fresh air. The toilet has a crack on the tank lid and the closet door would not close. Breakfast was good but I got there five minutes late the second day and everything was already put away they saw me and ignored me. The staff was mostly friendly. I will not stay here again on my next business trip.
