Multiple issues with room
Opinión escrita el 29 de Julio de 2021
Mold above shower. Sagging shower curtain rod made the curtain continually slip back. Loose floor tile in bathroom. Broken left handle on closet door. Cracked plate on electrical outlet and it was no longer attached to the wall. Loose connection on lamp on floor lamp. Dirty carpet. Weird smell in hall way. Housekeeping didn't clean the room after the 1st night. When we asked, the front desk said we were supposed to fill in a "covid" Housekeeping request upon check-in but we were never informed. No milk for cereal at breakfast. Un-empathetic staff on morning shift.
Most Disgusting Hotel Visit EVER!!!!

Let me start off my saying I LOVE the IHG brand and always look to stay at an IHG property whenever traveling. This hotel DOES NOT even come close to meeting the IHG brand expectations and to be completely honest I’m not sure how this hotel is passing health inspections, safety inspections, structural inspections??!!??
The ONLY positive thing I have to say is the two women that were working the front desk are amazing and should be commended on their compassion and demeanor. I was told upon arrival that the hotel was overbooked so they gave me a “discounted room”. I had just gotten off a 12 hour shift and wasn’t sure what was meant and assumed it’s because I was relocated to this hotel after the original hotel reservation could not be granted because the hotel was not open. So I get to my room, exhausted and ready eat, shower, sleep… well as soon as I walked in I knew something wasn’t right. The humidity in the room mixed with the pungent smell hit me right away. I then went to turn the AC down to try to help with those issues to find myself squishing around on carpet SOAKED with water. I though oh no and went to the front desk. That’s when it was disclosed that yes my room has some water damage because of the AC not draining properly but it was the only room they had available and could I try to make it work. Well since they were aware of the water I thought I could though it out because again, eat, shower, sleep and be ready to work another long 16 hour day tomorrow. I go back to the room and change out of my scrubs and and try to eat my dinner. I started getting really congested and stuffy nose within the first 45 mins of trying to make it work. I went to the desk again to tell them “I’m pretty sure the room is making me sick, has anyone else successfully stayed in a water damaged room?” I was told “no”. So the ladies start putting all their energy into relocating me because I had hives and congestion and it was evident it wasn’t a good situation. Well after a dozen or so hotels were contacted everything in the area was sold out for tonight. I then went back to my room to contact guest relations since they placed me at this hotel. Guest relations listed to my concerns and told me they would reach out to the hotel and see what could be done. I was placed on hold and when he came back to the call he told me there was nothing that could be done. I started asking if we could look at forcing an availability somewhere within a 30-40 min drive since I am a spire elite member. He told me he couldn’t see any availability. I was trying to look up hotels as well and then his line dropped. Well that’s when things got worse. I started to feel nauseated, sore throat, headache and I had been in the room for about 2 hours. I then heard the water start to leak more rapidly from the AC and went over to make sure it wasn’t going to flood the room more. It was then that I thought I was going to die. There were large cockroaches everywhere!!!!! On the floor, behind the TV stand, under the window, AC unit, on the dresser!!! Just everywhere. I grabbed my things in the fastest manor I could and GOT OUT OF THERE. I explained to the desk that this was not okay and she agreed and apologized immensely. I knew it wasn’t her fault and she had been so kind to me but her hands were tied. I left the hotel half dressed in pajamas and tennis shoes with my stuff shoved everywhere, walked it out to my car in the pouring rain with no where to go. 3 hours away from home and needed to be at work by 6am, so home wouldn’t have been an option. I was shaking and crying in my car. I finally found a different brand hotel, drove and checked in. I wanted to shower immediately because that was the most disgusting hotel room I have ever seen. It was when I was getting in the shower I noticed little red welts on the back of my leg. I showered put some cortisone cream on them and tried to put this evening behind me. Well the red marks kept itching and I felt like they were worse. I googled what bed bug bites look like and it was almost identical. I called my husband crying hysterically because at this point I 1. Didn’t feel well physically (sinus congestion, sore throat, headache, coughing, nausea). 2. Had what appeared to be bed bug bites all over the back of my thigh and calve. I never got a returned call from IHG customer relations but this hotel needs to be evaluated for customer safety and health concerns as well as mold and structural damage from the leaking AC’s. I also think IHG brand ambassadors should evaluate if this is the kind yof establishment they want their name, brand and logo on.
