Stay away from the slot machines--unless you want to lose.
Opinión escrita el 26 de Julio de 2021
We got here today and already regret it. I get it, covid hit the industry hard, but the slot machines here are way, way, way too tight. It's so tight, if we could leave and not get charged for our stay, we would drive back to NYC right now.
So, if you're deciding between AC and here, stay away. That, or just don't play the slot machines.
Arrived at 11:30 am and out the door by 2:00 pm..

We arrived at the resort at 11:30 with the intention of having an early lunch at the 24/7 Diner and spending the afternoon playing slots… Lunch, with 20% tip included, was $90, which is a high price point for just average food and drink. After lunch we headed for the slot machines and wandered around for a bit. The slot machines were plain and kinda boring. No Top Dollar, no Slingo machines…we did find a version of Wheel of Fortuna, but it was pretty lame. The slot machines were all cookie cutter similar screens with nothing to really attract the interest. There were no interactive machines, the kind with chairs which lights, sound and motion . After a lap around the place we looked at each other and said..time to go! Nothing really appealing here to bring us back sorry to say.

First the good - our room was spectacular. Larger than most, floor to ceiling windows and his and her sinks in the bathroom. Loved it. Now the not-so-good. Casino is very small. One way in and one way out. No matter where you are on the casino floor you have to make your way to the main entrance to leave. Slots are very tight. Most do not even play with you. Just lose every spin. Very expensive - my husband wanted real milk for the in-room coffee. No milk available, but one of the better staff said he could sell us a cup. This was great! He came out with 2 small cups. I handed the cashier $20 to pay for both. Much to my surprise she handed me $8 in change. Really - $12 for milk??? 24/7 restaurant - highly overpriced and extremely rude staff. They would not seat us in a booth and at 11:55 am would not serve us breakfast. We walked out. It shouldn’t be that hard to patronize a restaurant. So overall - not terrible, but not great either. We won’t go back. Will drive the extra hour or so and go to AC or CT.
Excellent first impression!

Just checked in with Dominique and it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had .She was so professional and so personable and being the first person we encountered it just set such a nice tone for a visit.
She explained where all the restaurants were and if we had any questions we should just call the front desk
Unhappy customer at The Alder Resort World Catskills

Stayed at The Alder at the Resorts World Catskills for the 4th of July 2021 weekend. Paid $379.00 a night for a room that smelled like sewage. In addition, the room did not have any amenities. There was no refrigerator or microwave. Not worth the money.
