Lots of Parking and New Restaurant Added
Avaliou em 29 de novembro de 2019
Velario Hotel bought two adjoining lots it's using for parking. A new female front desk clerk, Alexandra, speaks little English. Housekeeping has improved. The hotel is quieter at night for whatever reason. The restaurant area has been taken over by Master Chef Erick Saenz. He speaks fluent English and is a master of self-promotion. However, he should be nowhere near food. I never see anybody in there wash their hands. The employees are all brain dead. It's frustrating trying to communicate with them. They use hand written paper receipts and the guy writes very slow. I ate their a few times. The guy doesn't season his food. He spends all day on the presentation. He should spend more time seasoning the food. The last time I ate there beside flavorless food I got diarrhea. The hotel added a gym and sauna in the back. I didn't go there and I doubt anybody else does either. I think the sauna is open Monday to Friday and the girl who works there is pretty and wears a blue uniform like a nurse.
NICE AND CLEAN HOTEL IN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE REVOLUCION STREET, THE MAIN TOURIST DRAG

Sure, it is not a 4 star hotel and the location is a little "off" , but the rooms are nice and clean. For a few bucks more get the suite. It is roomy with a fridge and a big HD TV. The hotel is a little noisy and the receptionist is always in a bad mood, but the lady coming in the afternoon is really nice and helpful. There is a big secure parking lot in front and if you don't have a car, take a taxi at night to go home. No problem to walk at daytime. Even so it is only 3 short blocks from the tourist attraction, the area is not the best. There are many beautiful "professional" females all along the street. But just one block around the corner and everything looks different. The place is secure and there is no problem at all.
In a very rough neighborhood but close to the red light district

The interior of the Valerio is quite nice. It was recently redone. The desk staff is friendly. The big problem is the neighborhood. It may say it's in Centro but really it is located in Zona Norte, one of the rougher neighborhoods. It is two blocks or so from the redlight district but I do not recommend walking there in the evening, even though it is such a short distance. Take a cab for 50 pesos. If you are in to transvestites, they hang out across the street and down a few feet from the Velario at a hotel called Motel el Deseo.

There was a housekeeping supervisor and 3 housekeepers on duty that I saw. I talked to the supervisor twice and the front desk twice and they never cleaned my room. They need to fire some people. What kind of hotel is this?

My husband and I booked this hotel last minute because we wanted to be close to go visit his friend / it was my husband's b day as well so I booked it for 2 night we had planned to stay at this hotel, it was all BAD just the area its located in is the worst, walking in the room I almost fell with this dumb step they have, the room smelled, the room is small, the bathroom shower was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, so I booked it for 2 night but with all the noise which you can hear all thru the night it was absolutely horrible, me and my husband decided to not stay there for the second night and just cancell it so I went to the front desk to tell them I wanted to cancell the second night the man at the front desk had told me when I booked it if I didn't want the 2nd night I could save it for another date so when i went to check out he tells me they cant give me the second night for another date because it was too late, which I didn't care because this hotel was horrible and I would never stay there again, oh and one more thing at night I woke up to make my baby a bottle and theres a cacorroche walking on the floor that just topped it off for me so STAY AWAY PEOPLE
