Business stay in Wellesley Manor
LOCATION hotel is just opposite the metro station, located near "the village". It's full of nice restaurants nearby which make it really easy to find the something up to your taste. It's 10 mins by metro to the center, which makes it really convenient. SERVICE Manor doesn't really offer the typical service desk for check in and check out but the staff is on sight between 12 and 19.00 to welcome you in and show you to your room. They are all extremely nice and welcoming. I had some mix up with the payment - my bank transfer didn't go through for some reason - but the owners not only kept my reservation standing even though I arrived a day late but also agreed to wait three days until the transfer cleared out. I was pleasantly surprised how accommodating and understanding they were to my situation. ROOM If you're expecting an apartment - I'm not sure you would get it here but I basically needed 3 things: clean room, clean bathroom and quiet - and I got all of those. Room was not big but nice and comfy, with its own bathroom and spacious shower. NOTES Probably the only things I could see improving was the internet connection which at times could be unstable and the cleaning service - the room was quite clean when I checked in but over the course of two weeks I ate quite a lot of take out there and my garbage can filled out quickly - it was emptied but only after I asked for it. SUMMARY Would I recommend for you to stay there? Yes, definitely! It's a nice, calm place in a convenient location run by some of the nicest people I've met. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I ever go back to Toronto.
Fairly clean and newly designed decor. The initial room had the bed frame defect which was detected upon arrival. The second room had damaged and cut shade of the street view window at ground floor level. This was detected after attendant had left for the night. Absolutely no privacy. Anyone walking in the street or in building across the street had a full view of the hotel room. Very uncomfortable for female solo traveller.
The worst hotel
I'm writing to tell you that it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in so far. Let me tell you why. First, it wasn't possible to get into the hotel as there weren't any staff people at 9 pm. You should know that we informed the staff about our late check-in more than a week earlier. The owner declared to be waiting for us but she changed her mind the day before our arrival and decided to leave the key card in the locker next to the front door. But, the locker didn't work at all. We spent more than an hour trying to open it, In vein. Nobody answered the phone. We were cold and tired after the long flight from Poland. It is not fair to treat people like the manager of the hotel does. If it hadn't been for the help of the worker of the bar nearby, we would have to spent the whole night and half of the day outside. Does it happen in a hotet? Never. Secondly, all hotels usually have some hangers in a wardrobe, a shelf or a cupboard, 2 armchairs in a room for 2 people. In our room (number 23) there was nothing but 3 hooks on the door. There wasn't a wardrobe or 2 chairs, a single hanger or a cupboard or a drawer, nothing. How can you hang the suit or a dress? Where can you put anything? All your belonings you must keep in a suitcase all the time. It might be in a hostel but in a hotel? Never. Thirdly, other hotels usally have wi-fi, TV channels, tea or coffee facilities, iron, cleaning. In Welesley Hotel wi-fi didn't work, the TV didn't work, the coffee maker was fine but there weren't coffee capsules (we got only 4 for 5 day-stay for 2 people), There was only a tiny cup for 2 people. As far as the cleaning is concerned, the bag with the rubbish wasn't emptied during our stay, the bed was made only by us, the towels were changed after 3 days. As for the floor, I don't know if it was even swept. I'm sure it wasn't washed. To sum up, I don’t recommend this place even for a single night. In view of the fact that you have big problems on check-in, you should avoid it at all costs.
I did this review once before and some one deleted it. The owner said he or she would contact me directly (apparently to resolve it) and no one contacted me. This place is horrible. Have you ever wondered what it might be like to stay 5 days in a hotel without cable TV and no cupboards for your clothes ? Stay here and find out. There is no one on site. You need to push the front door bell for a representative. On the last day, eve that was out of order. The hotel is dirty and not fit to stay in.
Not so good, needs a clean!
The room size was ok, and the bed was comfy, and the shower was hot and powerful but there were a pair of dirty old socks left in the corner of our room upon arrival and a ball of hair in the shower. It all needed a good clean. Coffee stains on the wall and holes in the linen didn’t help and the dodgy WiFi meant we couldn’t watch tv either as they only had Netflix, although the owner did try to fix that. A noisy neighbour on the last night really finished off the bad experience for us. They were talking loudly and ‘other’ things loudly all night!
