Coral Tulum

I believe this was one of the best hotel my husband and I have ever stayded (and we travel quite a lot). We stayed 4 nights. This is not a typical super hippie hotel as the other options in Tulum. - the staff was very attentive, polite, friendly and helpful. Not everyone was perfect in English, but they did their best to complete every whim we had; if you go on the street there is always someone to catch a taxy for you etc. - rooms very clean, nice and very spacious; - breakfast super delicious (avocado tost amazing); - they clean the beach very carefully everyday; - service on the beach was exellent, Victor and other guys were super helpful and friendly. - location very good - everything is very close (especially walking by the beach) but you get all the silence you need. The beach is not busy and crowded, which was amazing. - we ordered garden view room. yes, we so garden, but I would call it sea view room :)

Today we decided to go to the beachclub of the tago tulum hotel, this was the wrong decision. When asking for the drinks menu, the staff pretended not to have a drinks menu. We asked the waiter how much the cocktails would cost, however, on the bill much higher prices were requested for the drinks. Horrible, we feel scammed. In the end they came with the cocktail menu to show the prices, while we asked for this menu multiple times and it was not available. In addition, the food and drinks are not at all a good value for money. Small portions, not very special for very high prices. Go to another beach club!

Myself and my boyfriend stumbled across Tago while looking for a nice beach club to spend the day at the beach. A lot of the go-to/recommended beach clubs had a large minimum spend ($80-$100 per person) but Tago was only $30 per person and even better 2 for 1 cocktails all day (the strawberry daiquiris were the best I’ve tried!!). As soon as we sat down the waiters were so attentive, helpful and very friendly. The atmosphere is so nice and chilled and the beach beds are very comfortable. We had lunch too and the food was delicious!! We got the tuna tartare and the grilled cheese which came with truffle fries and got the exact same order the second time we went because it was so good. We would happily spend every day in tulum here if we could and we would recommend it to anyone. The place is newly refurbished and I don’t think many people know about it yet so it’s somewhat of a hidden gem. I didn’t stay here so I can’t attest to the quality of the rooms but if you’re looking for a relaxed, comfortable and affordable beach club in tulum with nice food and drinks then look no further than Tago.

A hotel with a lot of potential... however, it is not very well organized. I spent some days at the Tago Tulum (former name was Coral Tulum) and although it was the most expensive hotel at Tulum beach, it was definitely not worth the money. For example, as one of the other recipients wrote, everyday something else was missing: e. g. there was no white wine on new years eve and I never saw a mango in the breakfast yoghurt although it was in the menu. Another day they ran out of some beer varieties etc. Very often only some waiters do the work and have to serve the entire beach, while others stand around. These poor guys then have to run from the beach to the kitchen/bar at the reception and in consequence you might have to wait 1.5 h for your lunch at the beach or quite long for your drinks. When you thing about the prices and just want to relax and enjoy good services, then you should definitely avoid this hotel.

Rooms and beach is beautiful! Most of The staff is very friendly and willing to help. Unfortunately ( without notifying before by E.g. having information on the room)they had a DJ ( which is not a bad thing) and turned the music at the beach during the day by far too loud so that it wasn’t possible to have a conversation or enjoy being at the beach. There were many kids and older people who also complained about the volume! I know everybody has a different taste of music, but the volume was insane during the day. It is not a beach club at the hotel ( then I’d understand when they have music in a high volume during the day)and even by asking several times they didn’t turn the volume down. It is one of the most expensive hotels in tulum, we had 4 rooms and payed really a lot! Unfortunately this experience rated the hotel down because they didn’t cooperate at all and one can expect from such a high priced hotel that guests are able to have a relaxing day at the beach. Many things are not properly organized e.g. they don’t have Information on the rooms ( how to call other rooms, room service menu, etc), everyday they run out of something ( beer, even sparkling water, cheese,..etc). They try to get in then in a couple of hours but for such a hotel I think they should have enough of things that they offer. It’s a pity because it’s such a wonderful place in Tulum.
