We recently returned from our third stay at this exceptional yet still-under-the-radar hotel. Our oceanfront suite was perfect, the staff are some of the most gracious and accommodating people anywhere, and the atmosphere defines the word tranquil. We were welcomed by the owners as if we were old friends, and we cannot wait to return again once we are all rid of the terrible pandemic. We can only hope that this magnificent place does not fall victim.
Perfection in paradise
This must be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. To start with, the location is spectacular, on the edge of a large lagoon with waves crashing over the reef in the distance. The lagoon is shallow and good for snorkelling: some lovely reef fish in scattered locations. The hotel grounds are full of tropical trees and shrubs, surrounding a fresh water swimming pool big enough to swim lengths, or just cool off. Our room overlooking the pool and beach was large, very well appointed and serviced immaculately, with a massive, comfortable bed and a plunge pool on the balcony. The hotel restaurant is blessed with a cooling breeze from the sea and excellent food; it’s really an Italian restaurant that serves Mexican dishes. Breakfasts are a highlight. Staff are endlessly obliging and good humoured. The Jashita is fairly remote, but taxis are available on request: Tulum town is about 25 minutes away. If you want to see the sights, a hire car would be a good idea. But why go anywhere when everything you need for the perfect beach holiday is right there?
An afternoon at Jashita Hotel and beach
We spent the day at Jashita near Tulum. It is a lovely hotel with a relatively private beach. The wait staff was courteous and professional. We spent the day kayaking, swimming and lazing about. The hotel has a rooftop pool and bar. The view is beautiful. We did not stay at the hotel. I am hoping to return to this hotel sometime soon. It was a highlight!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The service is amazing in the restaurant, on the beach and most importantly the hotel management. Any issues were dealt with immediately and professionally. We booked a honeymoon suite Nefertiti and were unhappy with noise from the neighbors dog barking every night so the hotel upgraded us to the better suite Aphrodite which is not next to the road and was much more quite. The food was great mostly. We did have an issue with a raw hamburger for dinner and that was taken off our bill. The pool was nice and refreshing with very comfortable beds and bean bags to lay on. We felt the beach was much smaller here than expected and the sand is not very soft. The beach loungers are more what you would expect from a mid range hotel. No cushions and uncomfortable. The layout of the hotel left us feeling a little claustrophobic. We enjoyed our stay and were glad to try something new but I doubt we will return to this property.
We had the best time staying at the Jashita Hotel! The staff was so accommodating and hospitable and made our stay very pleasant. The food was excellent, and the views of the beach and pool are so beautiful. Lastly, the spa was such a great way to relax with both massages and facials.
