Good hotel poor service

We were very happy with the hotel, the room, the location a d the amenities.
All that was good, but the staff at the reception and at the restaurant were not very nice, not polite and not very helpful. That is pity because the hotel is really good and it spoiled the experience

We made the right choice booking this hotel, right in the center of Torino. 5 minutes walk from the mole antonelliana, 10 from the other highlights in the center, such as via roma, the royal castle and others. Situated in a classic building, at a big square, with very comfortable and quiet rooms. Efficient and friendly staff. For parking ask upfront as this is limited, though there is a garage 3 minutes away. Great breakfast served, all made to order, and, though there are a zillion other place, a good restaurant on site in a great setting.( in Summer).
Tea and coffee machine in the room, good shower, very good bed, free wifi. Nothing more to ask for.

My family and I stayed here for a night and I wish we had planned to stay here longer. We were in Europe for 3 weeks and out of all the hotels we stayed at this one was by far the best. We even stayed at other NH Collection Hotels and this one did not even compare. BUT the thing that really blew my mind about the hotel was their exceptional customer service. The morning we left I forgot my purse in the room. We were already far by the time I realized so that night I reached out to the hotel through WhatsApp and I got a text back within minutes. They knew exactly which bag I was talking about and were able to ship it to my home in the US. Gaia at the front desk was incredible, she was the one who initially coordinated the shipping and knew the bag that I was talking about. Then Kamala at the front desk checked in with me to make sure the bag had arrived. Overall, this hotel was amazing but the staff was all so kind and professional I wish I could give it even more stars!
Location brilliant, hotel impressive, service mixed

The location of the hotel is perfect, the room was amazing (helped by the fact maybe that we got a free upgrade). The architecture of this seemingly newly renovated building was intriguing, so all in all we could give 5 stars - if it hadn’t been for the mixed experience we had with the staff.
At checkin for example the lady that did the checkin was super friendly and helpful. But then her colleague who was supposed to explain the parking situation was incredibly impatient bordering on rude with me because I didn’t immediately understand the options…
Then breakfast the next morning was a similarly mixed experience: First we were completely ignored by staff and stood around for ages before someone acknowledged our presence. It then took another small eternity until we managed to get a table. But then once we were finally seated, the gentleman who served us was again incredibly friendly - and the breakfast itself was brilliant both in terms of choice and quality.
So would I come back, would I recommend this particular NH ? Probably, the location was just too good. And maybe it was me being awkward or the staff just had a bad day 😉.

A well maintained and professionally run operation. Centrally located in an historical building with modern facilities. An excellent breakfast offering and quality restaurant for dinner service. A small but well equipped fitness centre with well controlled access to meet COVID constraints. I will continue to return to this hotel.
