Tyler, TX stay

Reviewed 5 november, 2022

This was a last minute reservation but several ‘ok’ reviews. It was awful!! Front desk guy was nice but that is where any ‘good’ stopped. Only one small bar soap in the bathroom, empty shower gel in the shower, no trash can liner, ect! Breakfast in the morning looked so bad… we did not even try!!

Gave my room away- left us scrambling at 2 am

Reviewed 17 may, 2022

Wow. I’ve never written a review but I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel. We made reservations through Agoda, and got to this hotel at 2 am after getting stuck in traffic. When I went to check in, the front desk person started laughing nervously and told me they gave my room away! They said they didn’t think we were coming. Never had that happen before and I was stunned. So at 2 am, we were left without a hotel room after driving for ten hours. Needless to say, we were upset. I called Agoda the next day. They were not helpful and said they needed to conform with Agoda that we were not no shows. I did a three way call, but since the manager, Jaquana, was not there, they would not verify we were not no shows. So I had to call yet again after I received an email from Agoda stating we were confirmed as no shows, and we would not be refunded for two nights. I called Fairfield Inn and spoke directly to Jaquana- and wow, she was nasty. She interrupted me, talked over me, and was exceedingly rude. I would not recommend this hotel or booking through Agoda.

Place needs work!!

This is an old hotel that they slapped some paint on and refurbished. We will never stay here again. Booked it because it said pool and whirlpool. The pool was drained and repaired. Freshly chlorinated and reopened. Eyes burning I went in to swim and enjoy the whirlpool that was broken with no chance of repair. Go back up to the room for a shower and had to be careful not to cut my fingers open on the broken ceramic soap dish. Fan in the bathroom looked and sounded like it was ready to fall out of the ceiling. Go to bed in the room started to smell funky. Air conditioning was sort of kind of working but cooling. Highway noise was atrocious enough to lull us to sleep for a few hours. We highly recommend that you book the Hampton Inn south for the same price!

Average to overpriced

Reviewed 17 may, 2021

POSITIVES: helpful front desk staff, modern updated decor & plumbing fixtures, clean room, great water pressure & showerhead, lobby coffee w/flavored creamers, micro & fridge in room. NEGS: unhelpful front desk staff, TV didn't work (at all for 2 nights), room phone didn't work, tub drain clogged, sad breakfast, significant road noise @ night. (If everything worked & they made a little more effort with breakfast & front desk customer service in general, their pricepoint would be fine.)

Don't waste your money

I'm surprised Marriott has their name on this one. The room smelled like piss, there was not breakfast...including coffee...for real. Way overpriced. Felt like I was in a Motel 8 for $165 per night. Don't waste your time and find somewhere else. The staff looked and behaved like they didn't really care and was just there for the money and for a job.
