A hidden gem

Reviewed 1 november, 2022

The main island of Venice is canals, narrow streets and squares, very little green space, so to find a hotel with a large garden is indeed a find & it truely was a hidden gem. We were a party of 9, so the opportunity to continue to chat in the gardenafter dinner was indeed a luxury, to be honest it was the garden sold it to me when I made the initial booking. Little did I know what to expect, the hotel itself is beautiful, some rooms have little balconies or accrees to a terrace, the rooms are well apointed , all very spacious & with good sized bathrooms. the staff were all very helpful & the breakfast has something to meet all tastes. A trip & hotel to remember for all the right reasons.

Excellent hotel in lovely part of Venice! Highly recommend. About 10 mins walk to St Marks, scenic walk too! The breakfast was also really good. The rooms (we had 2) were beautifully decorated with balconies. Can’t recommend highly enough :)

Quite an unplesant surprise

We booked this hotel a few months in advance for two nights, and were traveling with another couple. When we arrived, check-in went fairly smoothly until the desk clerk, Rocco, told us that we needed to switch rooms after the first night. Even though we had reservations for two nights, we HAD TO MOVE to another room. He also told us that breakfast was included. The first night's room was very nice. The next night's room was shocking!!! It was on the 3rd floor that had no elevator service, stairs had to be climbed to get to our new room. When entering the new room, I being 6-foot tall had to crouch down to get to the bed, bathroom toilet, and had to crawl on hands and knees to turn on the A/C. Even my 5' 4" wife had to walk crouched over to avoid hitting her head on the exposed ceiling beams. The shower stall was less roomy than an interior room on a cruise ship. We went down to the front desk to state our displeasure with the room. Rocco said there was nothing he could do because the hotel was full. When checking out the next day, we discovered that they charged us the full standard room price for this attic room. Additionally they also charged us for the breakfasts. They refused to discount this substandard room, but eventually agree to comp the breakfasts. I would run, run, run to anywhere else if they assign this top floor room to you! If you get a normal regular room, it's a nice place. But again RUN, RUN, RUN if you are assigned this top floor room.

Lovely oasis in quiet area, yet close to centre

Quiet and comfortable hotel with beautiful garden in which to relax, and staff who give you a very warm welcome. There are two ground floor rooms, 1 & 2, which are accessible for people with mobility impairments. We also stayed in the junior suite, room 12 on return to Venice, and that was lovely - big beds, rooms separated by a heavy curtain, two separate bathrooms, a terrace overlooking the garden. The buffet breakfast offers a good choice and there is always fresh fruit. The hotel is set by one of the smaller canals, and is a ten minute walk from San Zaccaria vaporetto stop. The Alilaguna boats - which service the airport - also stop there. I love Venice, and will return. The Sant Antonin will be my go-to hotel, and I'd like to thank Joey and the team for their help in booking (there were several changes due to Covid) and their very warm welcome.

Little gem of a hotel with a garden

Lovely hotel with garden in a great location! We are a family of three with a teen daughter and appreciated how spacious the room was. King bed for us and a twin for her with views to the garden. Great breakfast. Overall a great experience and we highly recommend it.
