A great and well located place
This is an amazing, quiet and friendly place. It is close to Accademia and the vaporetto, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is great. I strongly recommend this place for anyone on a weekend trip or a longer stay. I am a returning visitor to Venice for more than 20 years and this will become my first option from this point onwards.
LOVE THIS PLACE
My husband and our sons have been to the Pensione Accademia many times - I feel like I should review it. I can't say enough great things about everything the staff does to make people happy. Very professional, but fun to be around - and like all Venetians, having to deal with the flooding. Don't know how they do it. The rooms are wonderful, breakfast has so many things to choose from. I also order a Cappuccino every morning and they never look at me like it's a bother to them. If you go in the Spring, the back garden is full of flowers and pears on the trees - grapes. They are one big family helping each other - It's wonderful. Miss them already. It was a wonderful New Year's Eve in Venice.
Perfect in every way!
The staff of this hotel were wonderful, in particular, Enrico was extraordinary professional, enthusiastic, and helpful. He should teach classes in hotel hospitality! The location is perfect -- just a short walk to the bridge and vaporetto stop, but in a quiet charming part of Venice away from the tourists. There's a few great cicchetti places nearby, and a fantastic bakery just around the corner. The room I got was very clean, comfortable, and especially, quiet! The decor of the entire hotel is very appropriate for the atmosphere of Venice, and everything was functional. The breakfast was completely adequate (I only eat a few pieces of bread and jam usually, but much more was available), and I especially appreciated the water dispenser and snacks that were available off the lobby. Can't say enough good things about this hotel and the location. The best lodging I experienced during my trip in Italy for sure.
Great 70th birthday experience
Myself, daughter and 8 month old grandson arrived late evening after a magical water taxi trip from Marco Polo airport. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff at the landing stage of the hotel and shown to our room. We had booked a junior suite and asked for a cot which worked out well for us as the sofa bed in the sitting room gave us room for manoeuvre. The room was lovely very elegant and comfortable, the bathroom sumptuous complete with marble washhand basin. Breakfast was very good, a mix of hot and cold dishes, plenty of tea and coffee and staff on hand if anything extra was needed. As breakfast is the only meal served we ate out at lunchtime while site-seeing and in the evening were happy to go to the restaurants nearby suggested by the reception staff. One local restaurant was only a matter of minutes away from the hotel and suited very well. The bar does nibbles and is very cosy and relaxed. The hotel is ideally situated and is a short water bus trip from Piazza San Marco and about 15 minutes walk (if I remember correctly) from the Peggy Guggenheim museum. Altogether I cannot praise the staff and hotel enough for adding to the wonderful experience of my first trip to Venice.
Great place, great service
So happy with our choice to stay the Pensione, impeccably clean, tons of amenities and small details to make your stay pleasant, adorable staff, great breakfast - location in Dorsoduro is ideal, close to the Grand Canal and Vaporetto stop. Dorsoduro is super nice to stay, off the too touristy areas.
