Dirty and air conditioning only in bedroom... Old and smelly... in COVID times expect much more from a hotel

Very Very disappointed..... Don't waste your money... Go to Reef Ocean Resort in downtown Vero for the same price or $50.00 more and have full ocean view
We have stayed at Sea Spray Inn for a number of years last time 7 years ago. I don't think they have cleaned or updated the place since. Front desk receptionist was rude and not helpful at all. When I booked called 3 times to have the reservation sent to us. She wouldn't let us see the room so we asked to only stay one night and she wouldn't give the keys until we had paid for both nights in full. We should have left at that point.
We booked two nights but after staying one night decided to leave. Wouldn't give our money back so given our history with resort asked to have the owners call us. One week later no call or email or nothing. Given we have stayed over 20 nights with them over the years Very disappointed. Very disappointed. Our daughter had lived over the bridge in Vero so it was a great spot to visit them. Upset to the point I am writing this review.
The place is in need to major repairs. Classic motel at one time but just run down and dirty now. I washed the doors, handles, tables and the grim is so thick from years to neglect it wouldn't come off. We sat on our towels on the chairs in the kitchen area and did not walk on the floors without shoes. The railing on the sun deck is falling off.
Don't recommend at all.
It’s all in what you like

Reading some the reviews, I realized that the Sea Spray is not going to make everybody happy. It is old school Florida, but it was clean and located in a fantastic area close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. I could see where the one window unit AC could have a tough time keeping up with the south Florida heat. We enjoyed it, the staff was very friendly and made sure we were aware that they would be gone after 6pm. Not a problem, would stay again.
Pleasant stay in an older classic motel.

A nice surprise in a quiet neighborhood within a block of the beach in Vero Beach. An older establishment, it has the quirks of any older building. The tiny tiled bathroom had plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower. Soap, Shower Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Dryer are provided. Sleeping quarters are quite clean, ours large with a comfy king bed, 2 rattan sitting chairs plus a table & chairs for eating. A kitchenette w/ med fridge, apt size stove, sink, microwave, pots, plates, utensils, detergent. Small TV, no phone (you've got your own, right?), rectangular pool we enjoyed - even in Dec, Beach towels and beach chairs available and even a room w washer/dryer available for guest use. Very nice staff at the front desk. A great value.
Comfortable, Affordable Old Florida with great locale

I love the Sea Spray Inn. I stay here whenever I am in Vero. Great location right across from South Beach. Rooms are not fancy but have everything you need. The Staff is awesome! I recently bought a house in Vero and I will miss staying at this classic venue!

Several years ago I stayed here while in town for business and I gave this place a 5-star review here on Trip Advisor. Since then, I always looked forward to the opportunity to return.
Last week, I got my opportunity while I was back in town for business. My company usually recommends that I stay in a “name brand” hotel while on business, but in this case I insisted on staying at this charming property.
Since my previous stay several years ago, I was happy to see the place is still the same quiet and relaxing oasis. In fact, management has kept the place in great shape with a few renovations and new finishes (paint, etc.).
The accommodations are very comfortable, including a kitchenette with a stove, oven, fridge, and microwave, pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, etc. There no need to leave this place except to stock up in groceries at the supermarket close by.
The pool is clean and inviting (open 24 hours as long as you’re quiet— no loud parties at this place). And it’s a short walk to a beautiful beach— always a must for me.
Just as important are the people who work here. Leslie and the entire staff are friendly and always happily willing to make sure your stay is most pleasant. They obviously take pride in this hidden gem, as they should.
I can’t wait to return yet again!!!
