Warm and welcoming after a long wet days walking
We walked from Montefiascone to Viterbo on the first day of our Via Francigena. The heavens opened about 7kms out of Viterbo and by the time we reached the Mini Palace we were drenched. Although this hotel doesn't normally provide dinner we were offered a meal as a large party of Italian ladies had booked the dining room. This was a tremendous relief as it was still raining and we didn't want to venture out again. We enjoyed a set meal (chosen by the ladies) at a very reasonable cost. The rooms are very comfortable and the showers hot.
Nice hotel nearby the Porta Romana
We have just stayed here for one night only, while walking along the Via Francisgena to Rome. Our room was specious and nicely decorated, the bed was comfy. Breakfast was good and had more than enough choice. Staff were friendly and professional.
Well situated, Comfortable
Blocks from the city walls for easy access to the old city but modern and comfortable. Ask for a room in the back to miss traffic noise in front. Rooms have all the amenities but showers are quite small. Breakfast was somewhat sparse compared to our other hotels on this Siena to Rome walking trip. The old city itself is a bit grittier than the polished-for-tourists Tuscan hill towns, but is steeped in history and offers lots and lots to explore.
Quiet, close to center
Mini Palace Hotel is a decent hotel, cheap prices. It's close to the city center. It's quiet. I had a had a room at the end of the hall and could not hear any other hotel noise. I slept well. It's not fancy, but it does what it's supposed to do. The staff is friendly. The breakfast OK.
Mid Town - Mid Range
Nothing Wrong - Nothing Great Staff are all personable and heplful. But the hotel itself lacks life, soul and a heart. It needs a rethink - it could potentially be a good 4 star hotel but it looks like the management have thought about it and given up for either lack of funds or enthusiasm. Its the way it leaves you feeling. Not dissatisfied not satisfied. BLAH! Vanilla!
