Hits well on all the important things - Clean, Quiet, Comfortable, etc

An older property, for which they're doing a good job keeping up to date. It's fairly convenient, just off I-81. Service was great, whether at the front desk or in the restaurant. This was one of the quietest hotels we've used, and they purposely keep it that way, laying out their noise regulations when checking in. While kids are welcome, and we saw plenty there!, this is a place where adults can get a good night's sleep. No kids running down the halls shouting. No loud parties in rooms. They have plenty of parking outside, and easily accommodate vehicles towing trailers. We stayed on the sixth floor, and the elevators were pretty quick at getting us there. It wasn't scenic, but the lot around the hotel had very little traffic, only what little there was for guests, and made for a nice, safe place to walk before tucking in for the night.
We liked our room. Furnishings were nice, and design was relatively conservative. No outrageous color schemes or furniture design or anything like that. The two most important things - the bed and shower - were fine. I much prefer a firm bed. The bed felt softer than our bed at home; but I slept fine and had no back problems in the morning. The bathroom wasn't cramped. We liked that it had a bit of space; so we weren't sitting right up against the shower or anything like that. Everything was well-placed and convenient, except ... The showerhead was a bit low for someone 6' and above; but water pressure was fine. The in-room refrigerator was a very old and small unit that hung from the bottom of the bathroom vanity, one of the remnants of the old property not yet updated. Also, the vanity is in the bathroom, not outside of it where someone can use it while the shower or toilet is being used. Vanity lighting was good for shaving. The full-length mirror is hung on the outside of the bathroom door. With the door closed, there was no lamp in the ceiling above it to be able to see. The only way to use it was with the door open, standing in the bathroom. The heating and air conditioning unit in the room also looked like a remnant from the past, but it worked very well and was very quiet. So, older or not, we were very happy with it. And, though this is an older property, there were plenty of electrical outlets available throughout the room and in the lamps on each night stand. Well done on that last one, because we've found that even a lot of newer hotels don't do this well!
We ate at the hotel restaurant after we arrived. The service was great. The atmosphere was nice. The food, itself, we'd rate maybe a 7 out of 10, but it was good enough, it was reasonably priced, and we appreciated the convenience after a long drive.
Breakfast was in the hotel restaurant. We were plenty satisfied with it. They provided a buffet of scrambled eggs, sausages, bread/english muffins/bagels, regular waffles (not Belgian waffles), oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, bananas, some diced fruit, and possibly some other things that I'm missing. It was above average for a hotel breakfast. No complaints.
In short, this seemed like an older property that was something else back in its day. It looks like it's still used for weddings and family reunions, and might be a great location for either. It's not one of the new, high-end motels; but the owners seem to be doing a good job of updating the things that matter, and gradually getting to the rest over time. But for the things that matter most to us - Clean, Comfortable, Quiet, Good Bed, Good Shower, Good Electrical Outlets and WiFi - this place was great.

This was a great stop. I work all around Maryland and sometimes I need to stay in multiple hotels. This was by far the best. The service was incredible. Being a single woman, I felt super safe and comfortable. The room was super clean and neat. I will definitely recommend and stay again when I’m working in that area
Just Stay Away

I booked a Sunday to Thursday stay for a business trip. Upon checking in, I was asked to sign a disclaimer regarding the noise policy and rules against in-room parties. Strange, but okay. Once in the room, which was a bit shabby, I noticed that a few outlets did not work. Next, I set up the iron to press my close for the week. It was broken. The front desk did bring up a new one. Strange mechanical buzzing could be heard periodically throughout the night. I noticed that toilet was running slow and assumed it would clear up in the morning. Toilet still slow when I got back from work. Front desk told me it was too late for maintenance and they couldn't put me in a different room. Suggested that someone might be available the next day. Really!! I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. I left and checked into the nearby Homewood Suites - much better condition and service. I'll never stay at the Ramada Plaza in Hagerstown again!
Nice hotel, clean room

Nice rooms. Quiet; Very Clean! Comfortable bed. Coffee maker - eh. Restaurant had decent food, but limited menu. But there are plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. Overall, I would recommend.
