What a dump and a dupe
No breakfast as advertised on website, just crappy coffee with powder cream. Window AC didn't work. Wouldn't even run the fan, so room was stale and warm even when 38 degrees outside. Staff was not friendly. No one was ever at the desk. In the A.M. a note at the checkout said to to to hotel next door in you needed something. Didn't feel safe/clean. Mask mandate was not enforced. Basically I wouldn't stay here again if it was free.
Filthiest room I’ve ever stayed in
Filthiest room I’ve ever stayed in and I have done a lot of traveling. Been all over this country and many other countries as well. Worst EVER. This room smelled bad, it had black grime on the walls and door, the lampshade was ripped with a big chunk taken out, the door stopped after half way of opening it because it drags so hard on the carpet that it wore a spot down to the carpet backing. When you got it halfway open you have to force it the rest of the way, and ewwww, carpet felt sticky. The only reason I even stayed was because I was so exhausted, I couldn’t keep my eyes open while driving any longer. I laid down, said a prayer, and pretended I was in a Hilton. I fully expected to wake up with bug bites. To my surprise, I didn’t. I will never stay at this hotel again and would urge other travelers to steer clear of this one. It was the last room at the end of the hallway on the right when walking away from the front desk.
Gross
I got 3 rooms we were at a baseball tournament and let me tell u I will never go to this place again!! It was gross and nasty!! We found a shoe, pill, and toilet was broke in one room ( Gave us a plunger to fix it) other room smelled like Mildew along with dried contact lenses garbage underneath the bed ants all over our room! This place needs to be called on for how dirty it is. Spiderwebs everywhere the railing in the back hallway was broke so hopefully nobody goes up there and tries to use it they will fall!
A Cut Above the Standard for Super 8
We were travelling from Florida to Ottawa, Canada under emergency conditions (Coronovirus). Our first night out we stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Florence, NC. It was not a good experience in terms of protection for travelling seniors given the threat of the virus. We were not looking forward to a second night at a Super 8 but had no choice since we were unable to cancel or change our reservation. What a pleasant surprise to walk into the Super 8 by Wyndham Harrisburg Hershey North. The lady checking us in was wearing protective gloves, had sanitizing solution available and wiped eveything down as I passed them to her. She said the hotel decided to treat everything as if it was contaminated, including the guests, a most welcome approach. Continental breakfast was cancelled unlike the Florence experience where the kitchen was open and serving as if everything was normal. The rooms had clearly been cleaned and wiped, with obvious signs being the TV remote control being secured in a plastic bag. The staff were amazing in every respect, friendly, caring and placing the safety and health of their guests as a number one priority. I will stay here again without any hesitation and recommend the site for anyone that wants to stay at a place where every care is taken. The room was the cleanest and smartest we have stayed in over a 15 year period of travelling the eastern seaboard, given the price of the room. Attention to detail was everywhere but the best example was that they had replaced the usual old, dirty light switches found in most of these establishments with modern rocker switches. The decor of the Super 8 by Wyndham is very pleasant and this hotel makes it work well beyond that we found in Florence, where we will never return nor recommend. The location is easy to find and in a quiet location guranteeing a good night's sleep.
Good Value for the Money!
I really appreciated the convenience, courtesy, and cleanliness of this facility. It worked well for me, given the other travel amenities in the area. I plan to return to this facility in the future. It was a great "find" for the money.
