Some good and some not so good.

First the good. The check in was smooth, friendly and efficient. Our room was huge, clean and very modern. It had one of the most comfortable beds we have slept on in a long time. Now the not so good. This is a full service location, but the restaurant is not open for night-time dinners. It does offer a $14.95 breakfast that is average at best. Next time I'm in the area I'll stay at a place with a full service restaurant that is actually open for night-time dining.

Surprise! Breakfast $14.95 per person. This is the first hotel in ages & first Holiday Inn I’ve stayed in, that charged for their (mediocre) breakfast. This is one more thing I need to check, when filtering & choosing hotel choices on 3rd party websites. The bargain price at Holiday Inn Winchester South was no longer a bargain after I awoke this morning.

Yes, it's fairly new but, with the current employment climate, we know we are taking our chances as sub-standard housekeeping. Not here. This was one of the cleanest rooms we have had. Professional front desk. Short drive to pedestrian only historic downtown.

Stayed here on a business trip. Brittany and Kyle checked me in at the Front Desk and were both very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was just renovated, which was fantastic! The room was great, and filled with easily accessible USB ports. It was so nice to be able to plug in my phone, my watch, and my laptop all on the same side of the bed. The trundle bed in the suite was also a great idea; I will definitely come back here with my two kids. Breakfast was great and so was Robin - she really made you feel like you were in her own home. The food was delivered very fast, and cooked as requested. Tasty too! I was only here for one night, but it was a great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I’ve traveled and stayed in many different hotels. I’ve never been so disappointed in both the service and response to poor service. Upon arrival, after a 9 hour drive, we were told our reservations had been cancelled, and there were no clean rooms available. We were an hour or two late for check in. We never received a phone call, email, or any indication that our reservations would be cancelled. I was told this was my fault and I should have called. We were then told to wait (no timeline) while the front desk figured out what was going on. I offered to move to another hotel with a refund, this was ignored and then we waited 40 minutes for a room. We were finally given a room and told room service was only available upon request or every 3 days. We were also charged for our stay. No price was given (I’ve never been charged for our stay upfront?). After settling in, my bank notified me I was charged more than expected. Apparently there’s a $75 security deposit I wasn’t told about. The following day I called to request a sheet change. I was told sheet changes were not available and I would have to wait until the following day. The AC wasn’t working well and my boyfriend sweats at night, the sheets were soaked and needed to be changed. I agreed to having the sheets changed on Saturday. Saturday came and we were gone all day. Arriving in the evening and ready for bed, the sheets had gone untouched. I go downstairs and speak with a manager who was apologetic, he cut our bill in half and then provided sheets to us so WE could change the sheets. The evening while we were sleeping my card was charged again, now totaling $900+. A few hours later half of the second charge was returned. I was called and told about the issue, was asked to come downstairs and speak to the front desk manager about my concerns. He was apologetic for the misinformation and rude treatment from the front desk, apologized for the over payment. I provided my bank information and was told they would call the bank, but they probably couldn’t do anything since it was a Sunday. An hour or two later I receive a phone call telling me they can speak to someone, but they would have to wait on hold for an hour and half. This apparently was too long and not important enough to take care of today, so I’m told they will call Monday morning. At this point I’m livid, short $400, and haven’t had one pleasant experience. I asked about further compensation, to which I was told that isn’t possible.
