Great location, clean and comfy room, disappointing breakfast
Reviewed 23 August, 2021
The communication provided after booking by the owners was excellent, including the instructions on self-check in - all went well. The location was good too a few minutes walk from the river, castle, shops etc and we managed to get parked on the house driveway. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy, with a nice comfy bed. My only complaint was that breakfast was disappointing. We had been told that it was a continental breakfast that we should just help ourselves in the kitchen/dining room. Everything was very accessible however there was not much choice of food. Some biscuits, mini cereal boxes, yoghurts, bagels, sliced white/brown bread, butter and jam portions, mini cheese portions and a fruit bowl with some bruised apples and an over-ripe banana. I was expecting some croissants or muffins or similar baked goods. I should say there was a good selection of hot drinks, along with orange juice and bottled water.
A lovely stay

A little gem

A beautifully presented establishment less than 10 minute walk to the Castle. We stayed in the Cottage annex, clean and comfortable, lots of little extras like iron and ironing board, assorted novels, alarm clock. The continental breakfast is stored in the room on your arrival and is plentiful. In the fridge was water, orange juice, milk, yoghurts and butter and cheeses. We had a choice of cereals, fruit, bread for the toaster and bagels. There was plenty of jams biscuits and spreads to choose from. There’s also a microwave and kettle and lots of cutlery ( now including forks). At the side of the cottage is a small and pretty garden. We parked on the nearby business park by the police station, we were lucky found a spot on a Sunday evening outside the car park so free parking, you can park on the driveway of the Alma if there’s room. Definitely a lovely place to stay in Windsor, good value, close to the Castle and a great alternative to the corporate feel of many hotels in the area.
Handy to everything

It's about 25 min taxi ride from Heathrow Airport (40/50 pounds return).
10 min walk (walking slow) to Windsor Castle and the town centre.
You can get the legoland bus from bus stops G and J, they are just beside the Castle entrance.
Plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops near for getting a few beers and snacks for the evening.
We stayed in room 3, great room for a family of 4, double bed, single bed and a good pull out single.
Good sized bathroom with a good shower.
Dining table and chairs for 4, cupboard with all the breakfast food, kettle, toaster and mini fridge for the drinks and milk.
Samsung smart TV so you can use Netflix and stuff.
Double doors out to the back garden.
We arrived early and left our bags in the office and headed up the town until we were able to check-in, also got a later flight home as to not waste the day and the staff kept our bags in the office after we checked out until our taxi picked us up later that day so we could do more touristy stuff.
It has it's own entrance so you can come and go as you please.
Staff are very accommodating and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again.
Great place for a couples getaway

Great place near the centre.
Clean, luxurious and perfect for a getaway.
We stayed in room 1A. The room was very large and we had our own private bathroom with a bath tub and separate shower.
The breakfast was help yourself which is great as can have breakfast anytime! It consists of cereal, toast, bagels, cookies, jams and spreads. Plus coffee, juice or tea.
Parking is great as it is free if you can get on drive.
The cars on the site are parked behind one another. Don't worry you do not get blocked in as the people there know who owns the cars and everyone leaves their cars keys I their rooms to allow the hotel owners to move them.
Would stay again
