Having used Winford Manor before, we used this hotel again as the Coronavirus crisis was developing. Our holiday was cut short and our return flight altered to Gatwick. A quick ‘phone call on arrival at Gatwick, at midnight, was received with understanding and cooperation by a very competent and helpful young lady who arranged for a room to be available. Well done Winford Manor will certainly stay again when flying from Bristol and when these strange times are over!
Officious and rude
I am aware with current situation that certain precautions have to be observed and bookings cancelled but the male porter / whoever was an officious jobs worth. Horrible experience. We stayed elsewhere and would advise you to avoid a place like this when the staff can’t even be civil.
Not able to stay at this hotel . Due to the corona virus we had to cancel our overnight stay, and they wouldn't allow us to defer our booking until later date , although we didn't want to cancel or require a refund they still wasn't helpful
early flight and parking for 2 weeks
we booked this as we had an early flight from Bristol airport. a little aprehensive as it seemed to be under ther flight path to the airport. we slept like babies never heard a thing all night brilliant room, large bed and staff to die for so helpful, drive to the airport is 5/10 minutes maximum and on time. only gripe and this is me personally I dislike english continental brekfasts not enough selection offered but that is most uk hotels.
We’ve stayed at this hotel for many years as the location was invaluable for the airport for early morning access to the airport .since it’s changed hands the rooms have been upgraded which is a massive plus but the food was appalling With really long hair wrapped up in our tomato soup so Very clearly the food hygiene With the staff leaves a lot to be desired We certainly will Not be back of which we feel very sad about as the hotel with its restaurant with its original and intimate features are a real bonus and have enjoyed many a quiet meal the night before our flights
