Estuve en Julio en este hotel y este año volveremos en Septiembre. La estadía fue increíble dado al buen servicio del personal, excelente desayuno, habitación cómoda y cama fabulosa, la piscina temperada otro plus y la precisa ubicación de este hotel para visitar la ciudad y The Forks. La decoración es clásica en todo el hotel así que si no es su estilo seguramente no apreciará los detalles. En mi habitación no tuve problemas de oir a los vecinos como otros viajeros describen. En relación calidad precio para mi es una buena desición volver acá!

We had a couples getaway at Fort Garry for a few nights. Dinner on the terrace, last minute booking and we loved the new menu! We had a wonderful room, relaxing afternoon at Ten Spa…highly recommend the Hammam. Miss the coffee service, but the in room coffee ( kinda) makes up for it! Wonderful stay, never disappointed!

Wonderful historical hotel - we rented the King's Suite, which was one of the most amazing rooms we have ever stayed at!

Amazing Staycation in this Gorgeous, Historic and Luxurious Hotel!

I stayed at the Fort Garry Hotel for my 30th birthday weekend staycation/celebration between April 23-25, 2021. The Fort Garry is a luxurious and historic hotel in downtown Winnipeg and I had such a great experience here.
I booked a King room with city view and they had a special essential worker rate which I took advantage of. The mattress and pillows were memory foam and SO comfortable and plush. I loved the mix of original touches (doorknobs, moldings on the walls, iron bed frame) and modern additions in the room. The shampoo and conditioner provided in the bathroom were lovely. The room had a great view overlooking downtown!
The hotel was fancy and so gorgeous! The lobby and mezzanine levels were stunning with all the detailed architecture and vintage red couches in the lobby. The architecture on the exterior of the hotel was amazing and just so much detail. I enjoyed eating breakfast at the Provencher Lounge, located on the main level in the most beautiful ballroom with such ornate details everywhere (make sure to look up to the ceiling). I enjoyed using the fitness centre (the pool and hot tubs are still closed due to COVID) and visiting Ten Spa on the tenth floor for a lovely massage and relaxing in the steam room and experiential showers. The Forks is within close walking distance, with shops, restaurants, and walking paths.
The front and lounge staff were always so friendly and helpful.
If you're looking for a wonderful place for a staycation in Winnipeg, definitely check out the Fort Garry.
I will never be a guest again.

I arrived in Winnipeg just after 12 am on April 10, and needed a hotel. I usually love staying at the Fort Garry.
So I park, walk around to the front and try to get in the hotel. No, all doors are locked.
So I ring the front desk and it turns out you cannot ‘walk-in’ without having a reservation.
I had driven 10 hours by the time I arrived. I was exhausted.
So I sat down in the foyer, trying to make an online reservation because I was too tired to go elsewhere.
Being as tired as I was I thought, “well it is April 10”, so I clicked it as my check in date. Make my reservation for the night, I think I will in bed within minutes.
I could check in at 3 pm that afternoon.
Edward, the Night Audit Manager took his position very seriously, and would not budge to give me a room or help in any way.
I left and checked into a beautiful hotel minutes away, and was treated with care and respect. Breakfast was even provided.
A security guard even followed me into the parking lot and to the gate to make sure I left without any disturbance.
After I had checked into my room I called Choice Hotels customer service line, spoke to a lovely representative named Christian who helped me greatly by cancelling the reservation at the Fort Garry, at no charge.
I will never return to the Fort Garry again, I cannot imagine being treated any worse than I was last night.
I have stayed there numerous times as I travel often, and the treatment I received last night was truly offensive.
