Stopover driving north
Reviewed 10 September, 2021
This was the best stay in our 10 day driving trip around Lake Michigan. It was clean, roomy, had good internet, it was quiet for a good night's rest and low cost. We couldn't ask for more. It seemed very COVID safe which is a concern of ours. We always enjoy the breakfast at a Staybridge brand.
Great happy hour
Reviewed 8 July, 2021
This hotel is similar to what we have grown to love and expect from stay bridge. Always our first choice of chains, love the private room option and multiple bed set up. But this special location offered amazing happy hour snacks , beer and wine. The snacks really could have been a meal, Italian subs one night and hot dogs or brats the other
My son however wished they had a basketball court like some other locations

The cupboards do not get wiped out, microwave does not get wiped out, refrigerator is not wiped clean underneath shelving units and drawers. The dishes do not get put away; always left in dishwasher at all times. The dirty and clean dishes are mixed together. The dusting, edging, and scrubbing should be done in each and every room every day. A few things have been brought to attention, dirty towels have been left in “clean” room, dust bunnies and garbage found behind furniture in all parts of room, including the closet.
Best choice in Altoona
Reviewed 8 October, 2020
My family has been staying at this property for at least two years as it's location and amenities have made it our go-to hotel for visiting relatives in the Altoona side of Eau Claire. There are some nice restaurants and bars in the small park near the hotel as well as a grocery, gas station, and highway nearby.
The rooms are all junior suites or two-room suites with a small kitchen (full fridge/freezer, double-burner electric range, dishwasher, and supplied dishes/flatware). My family prefers a small suite near the main elevator that has a king bedroom with attached bathroom and a main room with sofa-sleeper and kitchen. This can be problematic as whomever takes the sofa-sleeper needs to go through the bedroom to use the bathroom. (There may be other layouts with a bathroom accessible to the main room and bedroom.)
The furnishings are pretty hip (earth tones with accents of lime green with art that contains reds and oranges) and the overall look is contemporary without being cold or too modern. The indoor pool/whirlpool area is clean and quite functional. There are outdoor grills, guest laundry, a fitness center, some meeting space, and a large great room with a weeknight happy hour and morning buffet breakfast. A small convenience shop is next to the front desk where snacks and vending items can be purchased. There is plenty of parking in a well-lit lot.
During the pandemic (2020) the breakfast offerings are pared down to just a few packaged cold foods and disposable serving ware.
Great Place to stay!

We have stayed here many times. When you stay at a property repeatedly and for several days at a time or even weeks, you get to see things that shorter term guest or non repeat guests may not notice or see.
Usually what you see are the downfalls and problems within a facility. Here, you see thats its well maintained , clean, comfy and it doesnt change whether its a short stay or a longer one.
The staff is great, the hot tub is actually HOT and wonderful, things are super clean and everyone makes you feel welcome and at home from housekeeping to Front desk to management.
All the rooms are suites with kitchens which is also nice to have so you can cook in your room and not have to eat out , esepcially right now during a pandemic.
Something to note....
The hotel does allow pets, so if allergies are an issue , make sure to ask for a room away from pets or one that maybe hasnt had a pet in it. Also because there are kitchens in the rooms and refrigerators with ice makers, there is not a public Ice machine. Make sure you turn on your ice maker and make your own ice in your kitchen. If you need ice in a pinch the front desk can get you some ice from the hotel kitchen, but its limited and they cant give it out to everyone or they would run short for their needs.
Also great trails m a park and areas to walk right around the hotel and down by the river.
