Good Luck Getting Sleep

Reviewed 17 november, 2022

It’s currently 9am and a staff member is rattling every door, ringing doorbells and shouting something we can not understand. The same thing happened yesterday, what the call was for, we have no idea. This, only a few short hours after the 6am wake up call of the train blasting its horn for a solid 10 minutes to warn traffic it’s coming. The horn sounds as though it’s going off in the room. You wouldn’t believe how loud it was unless you experienced it yourself. Couple this with the walls being paper thin and you’re in a for a no sleep treat. There’s no ventilation in the bathrooms, the bathrooms are constantly stinking. For a new hotel, the whole place already feels run down. All the shops in the mall downstairs are pretty much completely boarded up, not making for the best visual experience, but also lacking all the things we had expected for a Hard Rock Hotel. There’s no draught beer in either restaurant or bar. Generally speaking the hotel has been ok, and service has been good in some of the restaurants, but the fact it’s so loud through the night and in the morning is really really frustrating.

Amazing Service

The breakfast was great. The Manager( with a cool necklace) is awesome and attentive and Pepe and Oscar are two amazing waiters that the restaurant should feel lucky to have them. I rarely write reviews because there are enough people writing them already but these people deserves the best.

Sessions Restaurant - Be Alert

Reviewed 9 november, 2022

The hotel itself is beautiful. Check-in was fast, staff were friendly and we had a great time. However, I just want to alert you all to be careful due to something that happened to us at Sessions. We went to eat and decided to order a bottle of wine. Our server, Karla, gave us some recommendations but I wanted to try their Crianza Tempranillo. They had 3 Crianza Tempranillo bottles listed. One was 500 pesos, 2nd one was 650 pesos and then the 3rd was 1000 pesos. Since I wasn't sure which one to pick, I pointed to the menu and showed Karla I would take the one in the middle, at 650 pesos. Then, Reymundo, which was a "capitan/host' brought over the bottle, showed us it said "Crianza" and opened it up for us. We ordered lots of food, which was all delicious and service was great. We ordered a 2nd bottle of the same wine and enjoyed the rest of our time, until we asked for the bill. When it came time to pay, I noticed they charged 2 bottles at 1300 pesos each! When I mentioned the error to Karla, she took it over to Reymundo. He, then came over to talk to us and said he brought over the bottle we ordered, and brought over the drink menu. He pointed ALL the way to the bottom of the menu and there was indeed another bottle of Crianza Tempranillo for 1300 pesos. I explained to him that I had even pointed to Karla, the bottle we wanted, which was the 650 pesos bottle, at the top of the menu. I didn't even see the 1300 bottle at the very bottom. Reymundo then went over to talk to his Lead Capitan, Ricardo. Ricardo comes over and explains we had drank 2 of the most expensive bottles and basically said we had to pay for it. SERVERS WILL DO THIS! I explained all over again, how I had pointed to the menu and showed our server exactly which bottle we wanted. If they in turn decided to bring us the most expensive bottle, just to make a sell, that wasn't my fault. He tried to argue with me at first by saying that Reymundo even showed me the bottle before he opened it and after going back and forth, they removed one of the bottles from the bill. I know this review might not be a big deal to some but I hate that I go to Mexico and feel like somehow we are always trying to be ripped off. Just be alert, especially if you are not from there. They know it.
