Decent boutique hotel in Makkasan

Avaliou em 6 de julho de 2019

This boutique hotel is located a short walking distance from Ratchaprarop Station so commuting between Suvarnabhumi Airport takes close to an hour and fares are cheap, provided you can manage your luggage. Its also near to Pratunam Market, Platinum Fashion Mall, Central World, Big C and many other establishments catered to tourist. The Superior Room I stayed in came with a King sized bed which had a firm mattress for spinal support but the pillows were too soft for me. Air-conditioning was cool and quiet while the toilet and bathroom had good water flow rates. These factors are important in freshening up and to sleep for the night after spending a hot and humid day in Bangkok. The room's door uses a knob and key so be sure to manually lock it before leaving. If all you is just need a room near an airport rail station with big retail shops, various types of parlors and cafes within short walking distance, Chang Siam Inn will do.

Nice visit

We paid slightly extra for the superior room after reading some bad reviews about windowless rooms. The room we had was nice, it had a TV, seating area and was very clean. The receptionists were very helpful and pleasant, keep in mind English isn’t their first language and it can be difficult but they were always willing to try and help. The complimentary breakfast was tea, coffee, juice and toast with butter and jam. It finished at 10:30 which we really liked because we never usually manage to catch breakfast. The location was good, not right in the main craziness but a walk away. There were plenty of taxis and tuk tuks around if you don’t fancy the walk. I would definitely stay here again.

Close to airport link. Mediocre hospitality.

I spent 3 nights in a standard room with no window. The experience was just okay. Not bad but not very good either. The location is great if you are using the airport link to go to/from the airport. It’s also only a 15min walk to the central canal pier and Central World mall. Very convenient for using public transportation. There is a 7-eleven a block away. There are some restaurants (mostly Indian) within a couple blocks radius as well. The hotel has an interesting vibe with its wood paneling and unique decor. The bed was comfortable. The AC & wifi worked well. The shower pressure and temperature were great. The hotel staff were not friendly or helpful. They seemed annoyed at having to perform even the most basic of tasks (checking in & checking out). No smiles or hellos. The constant pestering of the taxi driver right outside the door that refused to take a friendly “no thank you” as an answer was annoying. There was also some sort of construction going on during our stay. Loud hammering and drilling throughout the afternoon. One morning the hammering started at 4am. It didn’t last long, but the fact it started at all wasn’t appreciated. The sounds weren’t that bothersome, but it would have been nice if the staff informed guests that there would be construction happening. Overall, this hotel could be a good option if you want somewhere with easy access to the airport (via the airport link) while still being relatively close to busier areas of Bangkok. For the price we paid for a room without a window, and the lack of hospitality from the staff, I would not stay here again.

Worst of worst

NO RECEPTIONIST AVAILABLE AT MIDNIGHT, ONLY A SECURITY MAN BARELY CAN SPEAK ENGLISH IN CHARGE, which means if anyhing happens, it screws the guest up :) All i want to say to the board execurive of this hotel is instead of investing your money to decoration and interior ( in fact some are unnecessary), train your staff probably -_-. I have never ever met any rude and unprofessional receptionist as your. I totally understand if the hotel does not collaborate with any tourists agent but please at least provide some flyers or brochures about the famous attractions which you can totally get them for free from the Ministry of tourism and sport :). Please, even a hostel has them. And what offense me the most is the receptionist level of English which should be expected to be at least good enough but this is our conversation: Me: hi, i ciurus about the lady show in bangkok, which show would you recommend The receptionist: *look at each other* what?? Show me the photo ( saidin short form of sentence) Me: the lady show *show her my phone searching about it* . I just want to know that should i come there to buy the ticket or should i book it online Can you believe a Thailand say she does not know what is lady show? The receptionist : you go there errrr you show the taxi err they take you there Me: sight and repeat the question but the answer is the same and they attitude even worst Come on, who don’t show the taxi the address when they want to go a specific place??? Isn’t it too obviously? Did they think i am a dumb or what?. Then after that I angrily left the hotel and found a tourist center nearby, ask the same question, however i had full information and get the ticket booked with even cheaper price than usual

Good location, interesting decoration

Avaliou em 19 de junho de 2018

This is a small hotel located 10 minutes walking from Pratunam Market, a massive shopping area and have a street market by the way also. The decoration is quite interesting, full of wood, and with some items that looks a safari. The room we had was quite spacious but the shower was very small. We book by Agoda and said no breakfast, but the hotel offer a complimentary "Toast and Coffee"(or tea) that was a small but welcome surprise; also thanks to the staff at the breakfast area for let our friend join us there. Not so good comment to the reception staffs at the afternoon, they talk so loud as they are at the farm (specially the girl that have a ARO apron, and this is not polite at all when you work in hospitality. For the rest, a place that I recommend.
